Paypal "Fishing" Emails - DON'T CLICK LINKS

I'm recently under a barrage of scam emails from Paypal impersonators, looking to fish for info from unsuspecting, unknowing, account holders.

The emails come from seemingly legit email addresses... "service@paypal.com" and "confirm@paypal.com" to name a couple. They look like the real deal, including logos, legal jargon, etc. However, THEY ARE A SCAM, and are an attempt to steal your identity!!

The bottoms of the emails contain links to sites asking to confirm account info etc - PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINKS! Your best bet is to call Paypal if anything looks suspicious... do not do anything online with them.

Customer Service Center
PayPal Customer Service Agents are available to help you during the following times:
4:00 AM PDT to 10:00 PM PDT Monday through Friday
6:00 AM PDT to 8:00 PM PDT on Saturday and Sunday

Call us at: 1-402-935-2050 (a U.S. telephone number)

They will tell you to forward suspected emails to spoof@paypal.com

The easiest way right now to sort out the real vs the spoofs is that the real ones will call you by your EBAY or Paypal screen name rather than Dear EBAY (or PAypal) member.

Excatly, that way it is always better to have a screen name different from your email. In other words if your email is say jimmybuffett@buffett.com" do not use "jimmybuffett" as your username.

These are easy to spot if you look at the the url when you srcroll over it. The link will read paypal.com, but the url it goes to is a different site.

I have also received a number of Paypal spoofs in the last week and the address they came from is Costomerservices@paypal.com rather than customer. As someone who knows a number of costumers--- :pirate: :pirate: :pirate:
