Tickets for Buffettnews?
Do you think it is possible for Buffetnews (or any beloved administrator in charge) to get a group of tickets for concerts. Maybe these tickets would be available first to Buffetnews fans to purchase. Many parrothead clubs are able to reserve tickets for members who do charity work.
Maybe with some many people here we could accomplish some world peace or charity work and get tickets available to us before stub hub, ticketmaster, corporate execs, and high rollers.
PS-thank you guys for helping me cope with the post concert letdown by reading your posts.

I want to go back to the island,
Where the shrimp boats tie up to the pilin'.
Give me oysters and beer for dinner ev'ry day of the year

That sounds possible, lots of work but possible. If you were gonna put any work into something like that thought why wouldn't we just do some kind of fundraiser and just book Jimmy for a show some where in the states. Because you couldn't get enough tickets for everyone but we could find a venue big enough for all active members.

Don't know if it would be possible. It would be great. I know in some instances Ticketmaster has allowed fan clubs to give tickets to members but the stipulation being that it was a paid membership (sort of like the Dave Matthews Band does).
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

you would still get the same scalper problems........they would just register with BuffettNews.........IT would probably work in that a lot of fans aren't on BN so you could get some type of tickets......but again a majority would be held back for the general public...and there usually is a fee to join!!

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

love the idea of a Buffetnews club-maybe a t-shirt or tailgate sticker-or dues to aid charity work so scalpers would not joinor buffetnews bounty hunters to hunt them down-and of course this will all be done by 9/14

Great idea!!balcony girls wrote:. .I've always thought that BN should have its own PHC. . ! !
Of course, we'd have to have a paid staff member to keep track of all the tickets and ticket requests to all of the concerts, not to mention the changes in plans, losses, etc, etc, etc
But we should still have a club, even if we dont get into tickets, eh?
