Dumb Question

Post by NHParrothead04 »

How good are these seats? I just got tickets not to long ago for the NYC show and I was just wondering how good the seats are. Floor seats section 5 Row B. I’m just wondering because isn’t that around the section that they have all the sound equipment?

Thanks,

Geoff

Your seat are good, not great. You are too far over to the side to worry about the soundboard.
You might find yourself looking around a tall person to see the stage.

In keeping with the title of this thread, why is it called Madison Square Garden when it is oval shaped? [smilie=dunce.gif]

A sort of answer for you:

The "building" was an oval arena with brick walls and no roof. In 1875 the famous bandmaster Patrick Sarsfield Gilmore (composer of the song "When Johnny Comes Marching Home") obtained the lease and opened Gilmore's Garden. The bandleader converted the space into a garden with flowers, trees, and waterfalls, and held promenade concerts there. In 1879 William Vanderbilt regained control of the property and changed its name to Madison Square Garden.
