I Love Apple!!!

Post by jonesbeach10 »

So the other day the screen on my iPod cracked and rendered it useless for the most part. I don't even know how it happened, just took it out of my pocket and realixed that 3/4 of the screen was blank.

Today I took it to the Apple store at the mall. A sales associate tells me that it isn't worth to send it out to be replaced and that I might as well just buy a new one, but I can probably get something like a 10% discount to buy a new one. However, he sends me in the direction of the "Genius Bar" which is kinda like the Geek Squad at Best Buy, technical service.

While waiting for tech support (it's kinda like a take a number type thing), I start looking at iMac computers (see "my computer is possessed thread"). Another sales associate starts showing them to me, and how easy to use, and how SAFE they are from spyware, viruses, spam, etc.

Anyway, my turn comes up for tech support. To make a long story short, they told me my iPod was totalled. He starts typing things into his computer, prints out a receipt, and hands me a brand new iPod Nano!!! :D :D :D

Thank You Apple!!! :D

If they break that easily is it really worth spending 400 bucks on the 60 gig Ipod with video??? This is coming from a person who has had a cell phone for over 11 years and still doesnt see the point in having a camera on a phone or any other non needed features.

I got the two year warranty because of posts like this. I hope my screen doesn't crack and my hard drive doesn't crash, but if they do, I have backup.

Thanks for sharing your story.

It was one of the 4GB Nanos, and now instead of a flimsy leather case made to protect it from simple scratches, it now has a clear hard case to protect it from happening again. :)

for all the stories I have heard about the Nano's going sideways, I would have to say that I'd hesitate to own one. Apple may replace them, but sooner or later that policy is going to get veto'ed by the bean counters.

I got the 60gig one . . . and it scratches like you wouldn't believe. I got a clear neoprene case . . . it's kind got bumpers . . . and it seems pretty tough.

Ive had mine for almost a year now. Haven't had a bit of trouble with it... but I too keep it a case.

The problem with mine was that the case was a flimsy leather case. It is now surrounded by something like what yours.

I have a 60 gig video and a 30 video along with a nano and have
http://www.agent18.com/ cases for all of them.. Out of the cases they are perfect.

Cant wait to sell them for the new one around the corner.....sometime! :-?

Now, I have a macbook and a 17" iMac, but REALLY want a 24" iMac. I'll probably have to get the 20" though (not that thats bad)

I used Apple since 96 and would never even consider using anything else.
