Got through to an agent at TM at 10:04 and she had the gaul to tell me that only upper sections 400's were available. I asked to speak with a supervisor and when she came back on the line suddenly lower level 100 sections were available. Sceevy BS from our friends at TM!

Whaaaat???? I just returned from standing in line at the TM outlet at our local Krogers. Me and 15-20 of my new Parrothead friends....
BEFORE the tickets were to go on sale, at 5 til 10, the lady was getting in to the system so we could start punching up tickets at 10 on the nose and she told us that there was a PRE-SALE on the internet! So there went the floor sections and the good front row seats on the first level up (compaq center, houston).

Due to the way TM has the system at the store, you get a ticket, they draw a number and that's where you start, so after being the fourth one to get a ticket, I was 12th in line. By the time I got there, only the scattered nosebleed seats were available. I was lucky to get three together (the 11 y.o. still wants to sit with the parents, so we have to enjoy these days).

So now I'm sure someone is going to be selling those floor seats at mega prices.

All I want is for my kid to be able to SEE the show.

I heard on the radio last night that U-2 set up a deal with TicketBastard to give fans an early crack at purchasing ticket on-line with a password protected part of the web site.
Makes me wonder why Jimmy couldn't work out a similar arrangement.

Anon-- I'm guessing that was for Ft. Lauderdale, because, trust me, all of us trying to get tickets for Houston had our TM windows open, and it was ten on the dot when they opened it up here. I got in at 10:03 and was able to get a block of four nosebleeders, and my buddy downstairs got a block of four in the adjacent section at 10:04. By 10:12 (ya gotta keep trying), all that were left were the seats behind the stage....and if you check the posts in the sandbar, you'll see that some idiot is already trying to sell two of those, in a section which would give you a good sight-line to the back of the speakers, for $200 on ebay. Yikes. As best I can tell, the only person dumber than the one doing that would be the person who'd buy them for that price without looking at the seating chart. Those tickets went for $29.50 face & are perfectly dreadful......

Houston show-Well, from what I can see, sections 1,2,3,4,and 5 never went on sale to the public. I was lucky enuf to get seats in sections 7 and 8 on the floor but this is only after I bought two seats together in lower prom. I bought floor seats at about 10:30 on Friday. Something is screwy here folks and I am not sure if there is anything we can do about it. I already sold my lower prom seats at face value to a friend who didn't even know Jimmy was comin our way.
BTW Well Duh-looks as though we will stay at the Holiday Inn unless there is a closer hotel to Compaq center? See you in a month or so!

Beachbruce, there's a Stouffer's Renaissance actually in Greenway Plaza at the Compaq Center end of the office complex....essentially, across the street, but I believe it can be accessed through the Tunnel of Death. The Holiday Inn (I think it's one again....was something else for a while) is about three blocks east of there on the frontage road of the SW Freeway....it's not bad. It's a high-rise, and I lived there the first week I was in Houston, as I moved down here to take a job that was in Greenway Plaza. Of course, that was twelve years ago, there may have been some deterioration...nah. Holiday Inns full of surgeons are basically all the same.
