The Rolling Stones

Post by parrothead338 »

My mom called me this morning and said that she got two great seats for tonight's Stones concert at Gillette and that she was gunna take me to the show. I love all classic rock except for some reason Ive never gotten into liking the Stones that much. It's not like I dont like them, they just never appealed to me. So I'm wondering from anyone who has seen them perform live what I should expect from tonight's show??

I've seen them a few times over the years. Last time was in Detroit before the Superbowl. They have a hug stage, Mick runs from one end to the other (not bad for a guy in his 100's). They play some of the big hits but you can count on some stuff you more than likely never heard. They do put on a very good show though, lots of lights, explosions etc. I really enjoyed the show, but I do agree that they are the world's greatest rock n roll band. My daughter who went with me the last time still thinks Kid Rock was better. Just go and enjoy the experience, who knows you may become a fan.

I saw them at FedEx field in Landover, Maryland. They put on a great stadium show. The stage was set up in one endzone and our seats were on the floor at about the 30-35 yard line. They did a few songs less than 10 yards from us on a satelite (correct term?) stage. I have never been a huge Stones fan, but was for that night I was right there with 'em.

Saw the Stones many years ago, took my father to the show. We bought the nose bleed seats ( 100 each from ticketmaster) snunk down to the main floor for a lil bit.

Everyone should see the Stones at least once.... But I refuse to pay 400 bucks to sit near the stage to see them.

I saw the Stones in London 1991 Whimbley.

Richards Shoots "Pirates" Cameo

Keith Richards has finished filming his cameo as Johnny Depp's swashbuckling father in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End" in Southern California reports Fox News.

Actor Bill Nighy has said that director Gore Verbinski had to hold Richards by the shins in order to keep him standing straight.

"If you'd wanted straight, then you got the wrong man," Richards replied huskily to orders from Verbinski to stand still.

Richards' pirate costume closely resembles Depp's, with a different colored bandana.

I saw the Steel Wheels tour at the Silverdome near Detroit and then the Voodoo Lounge tour at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, MI and the Superdome in New Orleans.

Steel Wheels was the better of the shows but the Voodoo set list was more interesting and the stage was, I dunno, I thought the SW stage was stunning.

I agree with you Big Jimmy

I have seen them 3 times and they were great every time
First time I saw them in 75 I was 12 rows up beside Keith's
side of the stage. Just an incredibly great show from there :P

Too bad they dropped the ball with promoting A Bigger Bang. Previous tours with a new record they usually played at least 5 tunes from it if not more. This go around there were basically 3. In fact, the worst song on the record, Streets Of Love, is being played now.

What a waste. Such a great album. Instead they play the boring old war horses, the hot rocks, the licks.
