Need FTP Password

Post by VaPH »

I can't remember what the password is to access this FTP site. Does anyone have it, or have the thread it was listed on originally?

ftp://jimmy:buffett@jimmybuffett.servebeer.com/
If I had to do it all over again
I'd just get myself drunk, and I'd jump right back in.

the username and password are built into that link

"jimmy:buffett"

the username is jimmy
password is buffett

I think that's how it works.

THe following courtesy of u2hibby;

You can download it from the following FTP server

To log in go to:

FTP Site: bootlegs.jimmydreamz.com
User ID: jimmy_upload
Password: buffett

**You no longer need to set a port
**In order to download shows it's best to use a FTP program. There are several available at Download.com. We recommend using WSFTP.

**You can log in using your default settings, the port is no longer required. The ftp site is now much quicker and will allow many more users and will provide you with great access 24 hours a day. Thanks to Stoney and ParrotDoc for setting this up.

*** If you don't know how to FTP read this:

http://www.ftpplanet.com/ftpresources/basics.htm

I find that it is much easier to download files using an FTP client (software) than it is using your internet browser.

Here is a free FTP software I found on downloads.com (Use at own risk, I have have not used this program before)

Hopefully, this helps

Or if you don't want to go through all those steps that Al went through, you should just be able to click the web link in the first post, it should just open in a browser window. You can right-click stuff and "Save as" to download it.

an even easier way is to just copy this URL ftp://jimmy:buffett@jimmybuffett.servebeer.com/ and paste it into your address bar of your browser such as IE. Then just copy the folder and paste it onto your pc. let me know how this works for you.

i tried it, looked like it was working correctly. but then the screen popped up asking for username and password. i put 'jimmy' for username and 'buffett' for password (and YES i used 2 T's!!!) but that screen keeps coming back up as if that is incorrect. :( any other suggestions?

ok... i got it figured out. 8) i cancelled it and started over. and, instead of trying to transfer the entire thing to my computer, i picked just one folder to transfer. it worked GREAT! :D and this time, it didn't ask for username and password. don't ask what i was doing the first time, i have no clue!
but, thanks much for the help!!! :D

Crzn, thank you very much. Your foolproof method worked just fine for this fool. (Now I must learn how to burn a CD...)

Thanks again for cutting through the fog. I owe you a couple of rounds.
