Who does Hot Hot Hot?

Post by Defimoff1 »

I'm trying to find out who's version Jimmy plays at the beginning of his shows. Any help would be appreciated.

That's Buster Poindexter.
"Buster Poindexter" is the pseudonym rock singer David Johansen adopted in the mid-'80s for a semi-comic nightclub-singer act he began to perform. Eschewing his hard rock solo career (which followed a stint as lead singer of The New York Dolls), Johansen turned up at the New York club Tramps in a tuxedo, with a band he dubbed The Banshees of Blue, and sang pop standards, jump blues, and various novelty material. Eventually, the act won him a record contract, resulting in a few albums on RCA, but it was basically a live attraction. (from allmusic.com)

Thanks, but that's not what I'm looking for. I want to know who performs the prerecorded version that we hear right before Bubba takes the stage.

Buster's version has more energy (which is great pre-concert), but I think Arrow's has a more "Island feel", if that makes any sense.

I thought it was the Club Trini version, but I knew they did a great version of it before I realized that was how the shows always start.
