I really don't care if the video is on the cd.
I mean are you really gonna watch it that many times?
I'd rather have it as a song on the cd. Hopefully it can be transferred to audio form so we can listen to it everywhere.

I will
But hopefully, like you said, it can be transferred.

I'm with Sonofabeach on this one...not including Here We Are as a song on the track listing is dumb...just stupid. I want to hear that song as I drive along, listening to the CD...I don't want to hear it confined to my computer. Even if I can copy it, that means I have to copy the whole CD. Whoever decided this is a nitwit!

There's no question we'll be able to pull the audio from the track one way or another. The question just is going to be, how good is the quality of that audio. I pulled Green Flash At Sunset directly from the file and I would describe it as very low quality MP3 sound. I'm just concerned that this great song won't be released in great quality.
Hopefully I'm wrong.
I wish it was on the CD in addition to being a video on the enhanced part, but I'm betting there wasn't room on the CD to do it both ways. 14 tracks is a pretty full album. They have to leave some room for the vid.

The track listing for the upcoming Jimmy Buffett cd does not include
"Here We Are". Surely that song would be included on the
record, wouldn't it? Just wondering...
Their response?
No, it is an enhanced video on the CD
That's what I'm talkin' about! Lovin' it!

I'm really glad to know that! Thanks for sharing!

Nice attitude.

Perhaps Jimmy (the apparent "nitwit"

) feels it isn't complete without the video and wants it to be special in that way. His choice.
However, if you want it in MP3 format you could email Mailboat and ask if they might make it available through I-tunes....

At this point in Jimmy's career, he's earned his keep so to speak.
I don't want to steer anyone wrong

we are the crew & Jimmy's the Captain. It's his ship. Any direction he chooses to flow...boats well for me.

I am one of those who likes to put a CD in the car and ride and listen to that one album. I also walk and listen the old fashioned way, and it would just be special to have all 15 tunes on a cd.
Yeah, I know there are ways to fix that, but I enjoy the whole album with liner notes and real CD sitting up there on the shelf too.

If it includes Here We Are that will make it that much more special to me.

I can understand and respect that...I tend to be that way, too. It just seems the decision has been made and we need to work with the cards we've been dealt.
People wanted the video vs. just the song, and maybe both wouldn't fit. I don't know the why...I'm just looking a way to make it work.

I'm with ya on just making it work, Q&S, and you know I never complain!!!

Just can't wait to get whatever is released.
I have only looked forward to a CD this much ONCE long ago.
I have always been excited about a new album coming out, but I think hearing songs at the concert this year has really raised the anticipation about this one.

Look, everyone here is either lying to themselves or to everyone else if they say they are not dissappointed that Here We Are, the phantastic tribute song to each and every one of us, will not be on the CD, other than a quicktime video. Please do not get me wrong...I was hoping that the video was going to be on the CD-just not at the cost of losing HWA as a track. I hate to sound like a whiney fan, because usually I'm not, but I was looking forward to that song alot. I made a video slide show of all the Buffett concert pictures that my friends and I took over the years and put HWA as the soundtrack...it came out great. I really think Buffett or whomever is making a mistake by not including this excellent track on the CD. I can live without one of the covers in exchange for this original instant classic.

If the video comes in QuickTime format (most likely), there's a program called AudioExtract available at
download.com. It's smaller than 1MB download, and you can use it to extract the audio from a movie file and save as a uncompressed 16-bit stereo .wav file (which you can than convert to mp3 if you want). The free trial download program is fully functional, but limits you to three extracts.
I tried it on the movie file from the Hoot soundtrack, it worked great.

My main issue is not whether HWA is included as a seperate track or as a video, but whether the CD itself will play on my PC. All the previous mixed media CD's played fine on my older PC, but XP only sees the video and refuses to play any of the tracks. I have tried various remedies including disabling the auto insert function, but in the end I burned them on my friends old PC that was running Windows ME. I'm assuming this disc will use more modern techniques and will function as intended, but frankly, I'd rather see just a pure audio CD with a bonus CD containing video.

I do with each Wigglebop album.

:D (yes, I am joking. Yes, I am looking forward to this album more than most I have heard coming in release)

The video for "Here We Are" is indeed on the CD but it isn't listed anywhere in the liner notes or on the cover. It's the only extra on the ECD portion of the disc (besides a link to Margaritaville).
