If the video comes in QuickTime format (most likely), there's a program called AudioExtract available at download.com. It's smaller than 1MB download, and you can use it to extract the audio from a movie file and save as a uncompressed 16-bit stereo .wav file (which you can than convert to mp3 if you want). The free trial download program is fully functional, but limits you to three extracts.

I tried it on the movie file from the Hoot soundtrack, it worked great. :D

My main issue is not whether HWA is included as a seperate track or as a video, but whether the CD itself will play on my PC. All the previous mixed media CD's played fine on my older PC, but XP only sees the video and refuses to play any of the tracks. I have tried various remedies including disabling the auto insert function, but in the end I burned them on my friends old PC that was running Windows ME. I'm assuming this disc will use more modern techniques and will function as intended, but frankly, I'd rather see just a pure audio CD with a bonus CD containing video.

I have only looked forward to a CD this much ONCE long ago.

I have always been excited about a new album coming out, but I think hearing songs at the concert this year has really raised the anticipation about this one.
I do with each Wigglebop album. :D:D (yes, I am joking. Yes, I am looking forward to this album more than most I have heard coming in release)

Please do not get me wrong...I was hoping that the video was going to be on the CD-just not at the cost of losing HWA as a track. I hate to sound like a whiney fan, because usually I'm not, but I was looking forward to that song alot. I made a video slide show of all the Buffett concert pictures that my friends and I took over the years and put HWA as the soundtrack...it came out great. I really think Buffett or whomever is making a mistake by not including this excellent track on the CD. I can live without one of the covers in exchange for this original instant classic.
What a neat idea! :D

I can see a BN one happening.... :o

The video for "Here We Are" is indeed on the CD but it isn't listed anywhere in the liner notes or on the cover. It's the only extra on the ECD portion of the disc (besides a link to Margaritaville).

THANKS!! Mailboat got me the CD on Saturday [smilie=happydance.gif] [smilie=happydance.gif] - tried the download above WORKED GREAT - I did have to convert to MP3 for it to play on my IPOD [smilie=grayball-intent.gif] but just pulled down a free conversion software - I think the sound is fine, I can't tell the difference between it and the other songs I've pulled over - I will have rip the whole CD and add this file so I have 'em all on one - but it's great to have both the video and the song - it is probably one of my favorites on the CD [smilie=gt-happyup.gif]

The video is very good, worth watching more than once. I think I watched it 5 times in my first stitting. :D

I agree, it would be much easier to have the audio track included on the CD, but I'm sure an audio version will be floating around before too long.

I wonder if the video/audio file will be available on i-tunes?

Can anyone put it up on youtube.com?

That song sounded great, and I could care less about the video. I haven't heard it since the summer tour, but I remember it was pretty rockin' for Buffett standards. That song was a highlight in the middle of the damn downpour at Great Woods this year, and was a welcome change of tune while dodging lightning. I agree it should have been on the cd, although I'm just glad it's available somehow. Technology will get that song crankin' in my boat next summer!!!!

I'm gonna need some help ripping that one as well. See, when I record through total recorder, I have to have one of the settings called sound playback set at "playback thru total recorder". Trouble is when I have it set there, quicktime sounds choppy. SO I have to switch playback to "create soundblaster live", but then total recorder won't record it. Anyone have any solutions?

Was wondering if anyone can help with a problem I'm having with the video. When I try to open it, or it tries to open itself, I get the black screen, but that's it. Then I get a Direct Player error message stating "Unable to open file E:\Assets/project.dxr because it is already open with write permission by another user" Anyone have any idea what the issue here might be? Thanks! I saw the video in concert in Detroit and loved it. I was hoping to be able to enjoy it in the comfort (and dryness!) of my own home!

I opened the icon on my desktop, as that's where I saved the AudioExtract file. Click Choose selected the disc drive where the CD was...opened the folder named "assets" - then clicked on the Q file named movie, clicked open....then set the destination file to where I wanted to save the Wave file...then clicked Extract.

Once I had it saved to a folder, as a Wave, I opened that and it went straight into my iTunes folder. I modifed the track count on the album to include 15 songs, placing Here We Are as track 15 and then updaed my iPod.

The file is rather large though, so maybe it's not supposed to be a wave file??? 40.4MB???

Just wanted to give my two cents... I really enjoy the cd however I do wish Here We Are would have been an audio track in addition to the video. I'll get over it I'm sure. Also just wanted to ask if anyone else is having problems with the video skipping? I watched it several times in a row and it never got better so it can't be a loading problem.
Now as soon as he releases a full length concert dvd with the Here We Are video on it I can die happy. If only Wrigley could have been delayed 3 more months ha j/k
