BHOTM or maybe DSTC... I just can't listen to those albums and I think that they only have about 2-3 ok songs on them...

I have to agree but haven't listened to it enough to make a decent call on that one. Also FSOTW is running a close second.

Beachhouse on the Moon. There is not really one song on there that I would say, "God, I would die happy having heard him do 'xxxxxx' live". Far Side of the World, especially if it had the demo version rather than the final.. there are lots of songs on there that I would love to hear.

Columbus!

I yelled this to Buffett over here at the Don Cesar and he gave me a thumbs up. When we finally meet up, I told him him about playing Columbus, he says he 'forgot' how to play it.

FSOTW is by far my least favorite. There's not really a song on there that I enjoy

Why do I read these? I almost always disagree with everyone, not that there's anything wrong with that.

BHOTM is the one that I listen to the least because it just never grabbed me. The first two songs sound almost the same, to me.

I'm sure someone loves that album and especially those two songs. And on that note I'll mention that I really like FSOTW. LTC did take some time to grow on me, but with a small amount of country in my past it did eventually become pretty good, IMHO.

I guess they're too 'twangy'... the lyrics to some of the songs on those albums are pretty damn good, but I can't listen to them... I'm allergic to early country :)

License to chill, yea BHOTM sucked. Since I had read DSTC at the time i liked the album, but i honestly dont find myself queing it up on a regular basis at this point. I am however not looking forward to an album full of covers.

Hot Water is my least favorite but Far Side Of The World is very weak. I happen to like Beach House On The Moon despite the fact that it and the last several albums finds Jimmy's writing on them virtually non-existent.

I also think Meet Me In Margaritaville fell very short. It had some great potential like the way he redid several of the songs. However, all of the live songs have a horrible twang in them so, overall disappointing but worth it for a few.

These threads always fascinate me...

I really like Hot Water, and FSOTW is one of my favorites. :D

Unlike some, I'm *really* looking forward to TWWY, because a) I want to hear the new songs we haven't heard yet, and b) several of the covers' lyrics are intriguing, and I'm looking forward to hearing what kind of spin Jimmy and the band put on them

Sure, I wish Jimmy were writing more, but he's not, so I'd rather he record good songs written by others than not record at all.

LOL.. Jen.. when I wrote that about Far Side Of The World, I thought of you because I know how you like it. Each his own ya know. See because I also like Don't Stop The Carnival for what it is. It's like in this thread they hate his early stuff. I like it because it was what put him where he is now. I wish I was REALLY looking forward to the new album but I am not, will I get it yes, will I like it overall, probably. Will I think it's a top 5, who knows. I have really only heard one song and I am very unimpressed with that song.
