Police: Number of people dead in Amish school shooting

NICKEL MINES, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A gunman killed "a number" of people at a one-room Amish schoolhouse Monday in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County, state police said.

Preliminary reports from the Office of the Coroner in Lancaster County have at least 6 dead.

Please note, this is all prelminary info, not sure how accurate it is.

Apparently there are quite a few injured being taken to area hospitals, at least one little girl with multiple GSWs. They are doing a grid search of the area, as there were reports of injured children running from the school building seeking refuge in nearby corn fields.

State Police press conference...

The shooter was a male truck driver who lived near the school. He informed his wife that he would not be coming home today. Inside the school, he separated the boys and girls, and released the boys and teachers. He then bound and basically executed the female students before killing himself.

Why didn't he just stay home and blow his f**king brains out?

The State police are confirming 3 dead, 7 wounded. Not sure which figures are accurate.

I've resisted getting my kids cell phones, but in this kind of environment, where God knows what whacko will act next, I think I'll be buying them each one, for emergencies.....
