Is it just me, or does BIBOMO sound a whole lot like "If the Phone Doesn't Ring It's Me"?!?!

Just wonderin'...

I read an interview from Jimmy awhile ago and he said everyone steals from each other and he steals from himself the most. :P

Is that why all the non-Parrot Heads say that all of Jimmy's music sounds the same?

:o :D

It does remind me of that song....it hit me last night when I was trying to sing the song, without hearing it, and I kinda got lost between the two.

I have now listened to the album enough to randomly hum parts from songs that I don't completely know yet. It's cool, but hard to keep going since I don't them. I'm getting there though.

and I'll say now that Here We Are is still my favorite cut from this album (if you can say that) but Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On is moving up fast!!

Thank You Will!

That was my first thought when I heard the first notes the first time I listened to it, but I couldn't place the song, I was humming the tune to If the Phone Doesn't Ring, but couldn't think of any of the words.

Thank You for answering that question that really really really bothered me so!
:D

To me the beginning of the song reminds me of House of Pooh Corner---maybe it's the guitar???

I hear the song "Cliches" in the song "Nothing But a Breeze"...I know he didn't write that one...but I hear similiarties.

I also think Cinco De Mayo in Memphis sounds like a more upbeat Banana Republic.

Everybody's on the Phone - sounds like Livingston Saturday Night (Slowed down).

The first song that came to my mind about what it sounds similar to is No Plane on Sunday.

Everybody's On The Run - no. To me anyway.

But Everybody's On The Phone reminds me - not "is like" - of Homeade Music meets Last Man Standing.

Which to me is really cool.

For the Record, Take The Weather With You is a Record and an Album. Compact Disc/iTunes is the medium. A cassette is a record/album.

Why do people freak out on that?

By the way, Breathe In, Breath Out, Move On is one of the best tunes ever written and hits especially close to home for me. To the point of tears when I first listened to it.

i'm listening to TTWWY and Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On was just on. that song just really tugs at my heart strings. even though i live thousands of miles away from nola, the song makes my eyes well up and gives me shivers.

i really hope it does that in concert... along with so many others on the new cd.

No, I hear only Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On. The song is very thought provoking and I have applied it to something tragic in my own life.

A lot of Jimmy's arrangements use very similar chord progressions and rhythms. I mean there are only so many combinations of those basic things that still fits inside an artist's "sound", there's bound to be similarity.

I think the majority of DSTC sounds like rehashes of JB songs (particularly "Desdamona's Building a Rocketship").

But stealing from yourself is flattering; it must mean you did something right the first time! ;)
