A Message from LuLu
Thought you'd all like to read this:
Dear Friends:
I want to thank all of you who have contacted me in support of Jimmy
and defended him against the heinous rumors of his detainment in
France for illegal drugs, specifically the love drug, ecstasy. When
I first heard the report, I thought this had to be a joke because
the only "ism" Jimmy has is work-a-holism. He works as hard today as
he did in his younger days when he had more hair.
Now we Buffett's have been known to throw a good party, but staying
up all night "raving" is hard to fathom or even make up these days.
In fact, I'm fifty-three today and as I like to playfully comment
when asked about Jimmy, "…he's much older than I am…" Seven years in
fact. A great bottle of wine at dinner or a few margaritas at LuLu's
is as close to illegal as we get. To the credit of our hometown
newspaper, the Mobile Press-Register (read article) did run a story
today explaining the French authority's confusion in identifying the
prescription drug, Foltx (a vitamin B supplement) as an illegal
substance. Imagine that, the French authorities being CONFUSED!!!
The gossip press has had a field day with this potential scandal.
Not much time or column inches were devoted to Jimmy's explanation
of the harrowing experience. Of course, that doesn't sell newspapers
or shampoo on TV. But Bubba getting busted for vitamin B, well I
imagine, one day that story will make another great song.
Until then, you'll have to take it from me that Jimmy Buffett is a
man of honor and integrity. He is a good husband and a terrific
father. He was an adored son and the best brother a sister could
have. Plus, he's more fun than playing with a puppy…well, almost.
Days like today, it's best to remember what my sweet mama used to
say, "If it's not the truth, it can't hurt you." As I like to
say, "To live, love, and laugh is the best revenge." If you're
interested in knowing the TRUTH of what happened, the following is
an account from Jimmy himself.
Luv, LuLu

Just look at the trade-off in music appreciation.
You KNOW you can't stay mad at Jimmy!

depends on your definition of "play". If "playing with Jimmy" includes a fast trip below the roarin' 40s for a couple days.. I could fit him in for a "play date"LIPH wrote:I think I'd rather play with a puppy.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
