Hey, guys!

We have a helment....a flat repair kit, a pump and some tubes. They were put in the mail by my friend Brian who works at the Texoma Cycling Center. Your donations made it happen! :D

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
One pair of Eye-Talian cycling shoes went in the mail to you today, Terry. I sent them by Priority Mail, so they are supposed to arrive by Friday at the latest. Worst case scenario, I insured them for enough $$$ that even if they get lost, we can still buy him a right snappy NEW pair of shoes. 8)

Labors of love are good. :)

WTG, Alison!

Helmet, flat repair kit, tubes and pump due to arrive this week, too.

I'm meeting with Wayland and his mom Wednesday afternoon ... under the cover of a story on northeast Texas cyclists. I asked the family contact to make sure Wayland brought some of his trophies and ribbons!

Can't wait to talk to his mom! :D

I feel the same way, Alison. It was a horrific summer for me ... but now things are looking up, up and away ... and this project is like icing on the cake!

Just got a call from my friend who dontated the shoes. He cleaned out his closet and found several used-but in good condition jersies and a pair of gloves he will donate. They won't be there for Saturday, but still....COOL! :D

That's just great, Alison.

Got a call from one of my buddies in Winnsboro. He's cleaned out his cycling closet, too ... Wayland will have his choice of how to be tricked out while training and competing.

Oh, and in case I didn't post it ... my friend Brian -- the elite collegiate cyclist -- has agreed to coach Wayland.

So far, the count is up to 10 to be there Saturday morning, not including Wayland, his mom and church friends.

I'm headed up to Paris now to hook up with the guy who's acting as the family contact. I'm going to interview Wayland for some backstory information on the pretense of doing an article on northeast Texas cyclists.

Then, I'm going to meet RhumChum at a pub.

This is going to be the best Christmas .... and it keeps getting better. :D :wench:

Just got in from interviewing Wayland and his sweet little mother and from seeing RhumChum. Wayland thinks he's going to be part of an article on northeast Texas cyclists ... and that *maybe* we can help him race in the Hotter 'n Hell in Wichita Falls.

Little does he know!

Brian's care package (he's the hot shoes from Quitman who rides for MSU in Wichita Falls - where Hotter 'n Hell is held) arrived.

THERE ARE GLOVES FROM HOTTER 'N HELL!!! Along with some really cool stuff, including a CANDY APPLE RED GIRO HELMET!!

Wayland told me today he only has tennis shoes. He said he's never had cleats.

Little does he know!

I also have a notice from the Post Office to pick up Alison's package...the way cool EYE-talian racing shoes .... with cleats!

Here's RhumChum (right) and one of her friends from Paris.
