Headphones?

Post by SchoolGirlHeart »

Okay, so I need a set of good headphones. Bose noise-canceling headphones are unfortunately waaay out of my budget, although they sound totally *awesome*...

I can't use the in-the-ear buds. They don't stay in. I'm thinking just a big over-the-ears set to use at home. Priority is on awesome sound, not small size or convenience.

Suggestions, audiophiles?

Thanks!

My brother just got a set to work with his IPOD...I'll ask him...I think he just picked them up at the apple store. They are the big oversized ones...but I swear when you listen through them, it sounds like the artist is right in the room with you

I'll call him a little later today and ask....I just looked on the apple store and didnt see them. The IPOD docks directly into the side of the headphone....

If awesome sound is the priority, they spend the money and buy a good pair. There are plenty of noise cancelling head phones, but you'll be better off in the long run to spend the money.

I was more concerned about missing a JB show next tour.... :P

what I'm also looking for is recommendations from people who have particular brands of headphones.... Love'em? Hate 'em?

I have the Sony ones that RR has as the first link, though I paid about half that price for them (I think you can even get them at Target). Haven't used the noise cancelling feature yet though.

I like them, though I may not be the best judge of sound quality. But I wish they were more compact for travelling-the ear parts rotate so the headphone is flatter, but I would prefer a pair that totally folded up (Sony no longer makes the pair my best friend wears). You may also want something more lightweight.

Just looked, and Target online also carries the Sennheiser headphones.

These ones (Sennheiser PX100) sound AWESOME. They aren't closed, so they will 'leak' sound, but they are sweet headphones for the money.

Don't buy them from apple though. They're $20 cheaper from Amazon.com

I know you said you can't wear the in-ear type, which I've had my issues with. But I bought the Apple in-ear phones, they were $40 at the Apple store, but only $39.87 at Walmart (and it's closer to me).

I mention this because they don't make the sound like the artist is in the room, they make it sound like the artist is performing inside my head!! The staging is pretty assume....until the ear-bud falls out. If I don't move, I'm cool. Hard to walk for exercise and not move, at the same time though.

I have those, too. But I guess I have weird ears, because they won't even stay in when I sit still....

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY, SGH! Mainly for fit and comfort. Everybody's head is different and then you have those weird ears of yours to consider as well... [smilie=bunny.gif]
