Buffett Scores 2nd Consecutive #1 Country Debut
TAKE THE WEATHER WITH YOU IS SECOND CONSECUTIVE #1 COUNTRY DEBUT FOR JIMMY BUFFETT
Nashville , TN - Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett scores his second consecutive #1 debut album on the Billboard Country Chart with the release of Take The Weather With You, on Mailboat Records/RCA Nashville. Take The Weather With You is the follow-up to his career first #1 debut album (on both the Top 200 and Country Chart), License To Chill, which featured duets with some of country’s biggest stars including Alan Jackson, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and others. Selling over 120,000 copies in its first week, Take The Weather With You also debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.
Take The Weather With You combines a variety of styles and sounds throughout the album from Nashville , New Orleans and Key West . After recording more than forty records, the two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter returns again to his country foundation with breezy ballads, interpretations of alt-country songs, a version of Merle Haggard's "Silver Wings" and mariachi horns in "Cinco De Mayo In Memphis."
The album also includes the current single, “Bama Breeze,” a tribute to the historic bars along the Gulf Coast as well as a take on Mary Gauthier's "Wheel Inside The Wheel" with swampy rhythms crafted by Lafayette , Louisiana slide guitarist Sonny Landreth. Deeply affected by Hurricane Katrina, Buffett takes a philosophical look at the devastation of New Orleans in the ballad “Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On,” which he wrote with former drummer Matt Betton.

Jimmy has another #1 country album and yet our local country station(indiana105) hasn't played a single song from the album. Although twice the new album was "a proud sponsor" of the local traffic report

I'm so happy for Jimmy and the CRB!! While not necessarily the #1 priority to most of us (especially since so many years passed without it), commercial success is a nice icing on the cake!

You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

Congratulations to Jimmy, CRB, Fingers, etc.!
And this time, Jimmy didn't need any help from his (country) friends.
I'd sure love to see Fingers as a regular on the next tour. Life's to short not to bring him back now

you can't lay on the beach and drink rum all day if you don't start in the morning
