I still get that way. It shows us how much Jimmy really loves his parrotheads. Every time i watch it i relive all those memories from his concerts.

I don't even need the video, the song is enough to do it for me. Might just be that I'm getting older, but every time I hear it my eyes get watery.

AND THEN, in Vegas on Saturday night, when it came on with the video, I was toast! I had tears rolling down my cheeks and I was standing there wiping my eyes. I think it just seems to get into that sentimental part of us all.

have not met or heard a Parrothead who "gets it" that hasn't had that reaction. The opening couple bars with the piano, and it starts getting hard to see whatever it is you're looking at. And if you've spent time here on BN and gotten to meet the folks here, that just seems to make the feeling stronger.

Now, singing along with the video at Alpine before the album was released got some odd looks from the folks around us.. :D

Okay...I know I am behind the game, but I have not seen this video. I was in the front row nearly center stage this year for the first time in many concerts, so I didn't pay any attention to the jumbotron. My focus was DEFINITELY on Jimmy. Is there a link to view it somewhere?

Thanks!

I think the emotions "Here We Are" invokes is a testamonial to the appreciation and admiration between Jimmy and his fans, as well as between fellow parrotheads!

And I also think the sentiments expressed in this thread are all good content to include in your page(s) for Jimmy in his 60th Birthday Book from BuffettNews. :D

Enjoy. :D

And have him think I'm a wuss? There's no crying in parrothead-dom.

Phinsup here again...I just got the CD in a shipment today, so I am going to check it out this evening with my box of Kleenex in hand. I didn't even know that the video was supposed to be included. What a wonderful surprise bonus! Thanks for the links and all.

The video is amazing, amazing, amazing. I read somewhere here on BN that they have been refining it all this past summer and it certainly shows. The only place you see Here We Are listed in the CD package is on the last inside page where it says: "Enhanced video "Here We Are" produced and edited by Stan Kellam - Parrothead Cameras: Kevin McGrath, Lee Garland, Bill Parisien." My hat is off to those people. Every time I watch it (about ten times now) I see something new. And the coordination with the lyrics is sometimes cute and funny, sometimes very moving. Current favorite scene: the two guys diving off the roof of their pickup into the bed which is filled with water. Perfect timing! :o Second favorite is the shots that go with the line "in-your-face Aunt Rachel's with an attitude." Some formidable women there. And I love the shots at the end where Jimmy's just saying "Here We Are" over and over - building up to the bleacher shot from Wrigley and fading out perfectly with the FINS UP title over the sea of parrotheads..

As mentioned in other threads, sometimes the video does not automatically pop up when you insert the CD into your computer and you have to go hunting for it with Explorer (PC) or Finder (Mac).

I'm not sure they both ARE women! :o

For some reason the guys jumping into the back of the pickup really tickles me too - masterful job of editing.

My overwhelming thought during the video is that I came to this party relatively late in life but I'm sure glad I made it!

I too had tears in my eyes the first time i saw it. It is truly amazing and shows how crazy, yet amazing this whole thing has been and is. I have watched it over and over again. But Jimmy and his recording crew did a good job of protecting it.... i still cant find a way to rip a copy of it on my computer.

You'd think that after you'd seen it a few times that first big wave of emotion would pass, and you could watch without tearing up. Not so.... I think I get more emotional the more times I see it.... :o

I, too, came late to the live party, although I'd been listening to the music for years. The song Here We Are is powerful, powerful stuff all by itself. Paired with the video it's an astonishing gift from Jimmy, Matt Betton, Stan Kellam, and the entire crew. I can't say "Thanks" enough.... :D  :D
