Keep the bags packed-LOUISVILLE, KY

Just got home late last night after a great time in Chattanooga and Ashville (you HAVE to love the South-the last piece of REAL America), but I'm having to leave my bags packed, because on Monday morning my boss leaves for Las Vegas, my immediate supervisor is going to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and good ol' ME gets to go to Louisville, KY. :-?
(It's work related).
It shouldn't be TOO bad-I'll be staying at the Hyatt, and there's a HOOTERS in town, and a new Cheeseburger In Paradise restaurant down the road in Evansville, IN.

Anyone been to Louisville before?

I hear they have a school with a good basketball and football team, but that might just be local braggery. :D

You mean there are OTHER college football teams in this country besides Ohio State and Michigan?
DAMN! And I thought the Big Two conference was the only one.

Only driving through on my way to Indy. If it weren't for the road construction, I would have missed it all together.

I have no confirmation on the rumour. For that matter, I really can't confirm the Ohio State/Michigan rumour either. I watch the Cats and the Griz. :D

Yeah, I'm FROM Louisville ! And boy am I proud of the Cardinals.....I truly think they'll beat Rutgers.
Whattaya wanna know about Louisville?
:D

Sometimes I miss it there. A lot (80%) of my family is there. Actually, I lived in Southeast Louisville (Okolona). East Louisville is where the fancy-schmancy peeps live. West Louisville must be avoided at ALL COSTS !!! :o [smilie=paranoid.gif]

I would be broken hearted if I EVER drove through Indiana, Illinois, or Iowa and SOME piece of road wasn't under construction.
If a person can't get a job in the construction business in those states, they can't get a job ANYWHERE.

What's the best way to get from the Hyatt Hotel (on Jefferson St.) to HOOTERS?

PLASTIC BOOBIES AND THICK PANTY HOSE !!!

Kidding...

You get on 71/64 East. Follow 64 E to Cannons lane exit, go SE on Cannons Lane to Dutchmans Lane, go left on Dutchmans Lane and look for the big Hooters sign. Or from your hotel, turn left (east) on Jefferson, turn left on Story Avenue which kinda turns into Brownsboro Road to the right, follow it to Breckinridge Lane (1932). Follow it to Dutchmans Lane, turn left, and look for big Hooters sign.

Whenever I go there, I have to go to White Castle.  We don't have any close to us. I think it's beef, but many argue that.

I'm ALWAYS up for White Castle. I lived in the South from 1988-1996 (GA & TN), and just spent a week & a half in Chattanooga & Ashville. I was at Krystal's every day.
Too bad I don't own stock in the company.

So, for next week, I guess I'll be having lunch at White Castle and dinner at HOOTERS.

I'm even a sucker and buy the frozen ones at the grocery store. They just aren't the same. I took my husband to a WC for the first time a few months ago. We were in the drive-thru line and he looked in his wallet and pulled out of line. He said he need to go to a cash machine. I asked how much he had and he said $7. I told him to get back in line- that would get a bunch of burgers at White Castle!
If you ever have the chance to go to Louisville for the beginning of Derby Days, they have an amazing fireworks show on the river. It is out of this world. Don't mind the birds dropping out of the sky!
