Yea, but I don't have boots (or at least the boots popular in Texas).

Almost! I see our count-down VGIRL says almost only 48 days.

I hope you and DPHarm will change your mind and reserve rooms at AM!
Hmmmmm .....

We were trying to find something on our way into Austin in case we were short on time on Friday before the concert, but there's not much north of One World. AM would be handier if we did Saturday night .... Are you and mr conched going Saturday? Do we know anything about AATW tickets yet?
I'm trying to convince mr c that he wants to go!! [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

I called Gruene Hall the other day and the guy said they probably would not go on sale until a month before the show. He said usually you can buy them easily at the hall. I've done that.

I'm not too sure he is aware of how many folks will try to go to this show. The Gruene Mansion was already booked solid when I thought we might try to stay there.

So, I'll keep calling and asking about tickets.

I heard a Jerry Jeff song the other day that started out

"I woke up this morning..." it was slow and mellow.

I figured plaguerism (sp) is the highest form of compliment. :)

I hope Django really did write that song! I love the kid and have watched him work his butt off and have a good time doing it.

Jerry Jeff does "Texas on My Mind" best.

Anybody ever used this Jerry Jeff site.

It's a good one.

Here's the other Jerry Jeff song that starts out

Woke up this Morning.

It's from an old Out of Print COW JAZZ album.

Great song.

STILL AROUND
by Jerry Jeff Walker

D D7 D6 D
Woke up today, rain comin’ down,

D D7 D6 D
wonderin’ where all my friends are now.

Em7 A D
They’re not around, no they’re not in town

D D7 D6 D
Used to be me on my way,

D D7 D6 D
now I’m the one who sits and stays,

Em7 A D
and lays em down, & kicks the blues around.

G Bm7Em7 A D
When those old blues come rollin’ ‘round, rainy days,

G Bm7 Em7 A D
How they call you, come on son, slip away.

G Bm7 Em7 A Bm A G
I’ve been everywhere there is to get up and get down in town,

Em7 A
and I guess I finally found,

D
I like it right here and now.

Saw my old friend, Jimmy Day,
He laughed when he saw all the gray.
He said, "Hey, you’re still around, its good to see you’re still in town."
"‘Cause I know how they try and push you ‘round,
but man they can’t keep good music down,
no, it goes around, and it comes around."

So when those old blues come rollin’ ‘round, rainy days,
And they call you, come on son, slip away,
We’ve been everywhere there is to get up and get down in town,
well I guess we finally found,
Its good to be here and now.
Yeah, right here and now.

And I guess I finally found, I like it here and now
‘Cause I don’t care if that sun don’t shine
Now I’m living on my own time,
Like you say
I like it anyway

So when those old blues come rollin’ ‘round, I don’t play.
Hell, they call you, come on son, slip away,
We’ve been everywhere there is to get up and get down in town
and I guess I finally found, I like it right here and now.

A week ago after seeing the JJW concert at BBKing, I tried to make a setlist (we sat right at edge of stage, and I think my frequent notetaking puzzled Mr Walker--at least, the young ladies with me said he kept looking down at me.. tee hee---did i say that people actually sat down the whole concert???they sang some, but sat!!!)

As a new JJW fan, I dont actually know much of his music yet, so i was struggling trying to figure out titles from lyrics, and i googled JJW, reached this site, emailed the very nice fellow who runs it with some odd bits of lyrics i couldnt identify, and he emailed me back within a few hours with the titles of all five of them.

Very nice, these Walkerheads
