Yes, Mr. Buffett had a very minor part in the memorial service, I suspect by his own preference. Alan Trousaint played piano for his mournful rendition of the song....you could tell by his voice that it was taking great effort to do so....he looked so sad!!! But no visible tears this time, unlike most other participants...conched wrote:CNN just showed some of Ed's friends speaking at the funeral and they showed a clip of Jimmy singing "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans."
Couldnt tell who he was sitting with...didnt look like Jane or the kids, but never got a good look

Musical performances at the service included a jazz group led by trumpeter Wynton Marsalis; Buffet singing "Do You Know What It Means New Orleans" with pianist Allen Toussaint; a church choir; and a New Orleans funeral brass band.
In the end, it was a rousing send off Ed Bradley would have loved, New Orleans-style.

They even got the name of the song wrongspringparrot wrote:http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.js ... &aid=64499

I saw Jimmy's tribute in song to Teddy B. I am hoping though that somewhere out there is someone with a link to view the memorial. I have tried to get the video from the link to the story that was posted here, but nothing comes through when I click the video link. I would like my mother to see it...she has always liked Ed Bradley, and loves our Bubba.

What infinite wisdom...Thank you Jimmy!!!

I recorded the video of Jimmy singing and uploaded it to my photobucket account. Enjoy.

The whole service was 2 1/2 hours, but was incredibly moving. Charlayne Hunter-Gault's eulogy was wonderful. You might check to see if CSPAN replays it over the holiday weekend.Phinsup2! wrote:I saw Jimmy's tribute in song to Teddy B.
