You just said you were a pastor, right? Can you ask the Big Guy for a little help here??buffett81611 wrote:Hope everyone gets here safely...Let me know how else I can help.
You've got my number, but don't DD me~Hippolyte~ wrote:Still no one has sent me a number to DD during the show. That number may turn into my rescue.

Hey... I'm Lutheran and I have to say that is AWESOME!! Welcome to the board!!!!buffett81611 wrote:Hey all... Just wanted to chime in with an offer that's probably crazy to offer strangers, but this seems like a good group...so here goes...
I'm a pastor at the Lutheran Church in Aspen and a recent Buffett fan of the past few years. If anyone would like to make the trip and spend Thursday night at the church--think sleeping bags on the floor of a big room--please PM me and I'll see what I can do. It's snowed about 4 inches here today and it's the type of storm that's going to keep coming for the next 24 hours or so it looks like. Last time we got over 20 inches.
I'll count on anyone PMing me being only those that have said they're going to the concert on the first post of this thread so I don't have 25 people looking for a free place to crash in Aspen...
Peace...
that's it, that's what I wouldn't say, when Mal thought I meant the B word. It's usually a green Christmas around here, and now look..............(imagine a picture here that is all whiteSharkOnLand wrote:I make plans to go see Jimmy, and we'll have the first white christmas in YEARS....
Y'all can blame me. Everytime I go somewhere in Dec./Jan./Feb., it snows.

Peace to you to.......what an awesome offer.buffett81611 wrote:Hey all... Just wanted to chime in with an offer that's probably crazy to offer strangers, but this seems like a good group...so here goes...

SharkOnLand wrote:A snowstorm shutting down Denver's airport in December is a slim possibility. Even given Colorado's reputation for snow, the big blizzards only typically happen in Feb-March.
Your biggest worry would be getting back to Denver, IMO... It's much more likely to snow in the mountains, and I-70 can be a parking lot (or if it's too bad, simply closed).

Oh shut up!SharkOnLand wrote:Hmm... what idiot mentioned the 'b' word?

As I mentioned in my PM to you Jen, if you need any help, just ask...pleasebuffettbride wrote:...If Jen does make it here, she'll prolly find a way to make a pit stop and kick my ass or something.

Friday's weather actually looks pretty good, so I would think Peter would make it to Aspen..... The CO transportation crews are pretty good about clearing snow & getting things back to working order quickly!!~Hippolyte~ wrote:As I mentioned in my PM to you Jen, if you need any help, just ask...pleasebuffettbride wrote:...If Jen does make it here, she'll prolly find a way to make a pit stop and kick my ass or something.
I heard back from the Belly Up, twice already!!
They said that if anything changes, which they don't foresee happening, they will blast an e-mail to everyone of the registered users that bought tickets. --you had to provide you e-mail address to buy a ticket...I think I remember that??
Anyway, she said that they've survived worse and she believes Freddy is already in town. I mentioned that at least one band member has a show, out of state, prior to Friday (Peter is appearing at the Brentwood United Methodist, in Nashville, TN on Thursday night....something tells me we may not see him in Aspen)
I told her I'd pass along the message.[/color]
I also told her that I would be clear on this point: The show is ON!! if that changes we will be notified. So do all you can to get there, Freddy doesn't want to play to an empty bar.

Hmm... I'd imagine Jimmy will give him access to the jet... I don't think there'd be any problem flying a private jet into GJ or even into Aspen. The weather WILL be better on Friday. It will. Because I said so. And stuff.~Hippolyte~ wrote: (Peter is appearing at the Brentwood United Methodist, in Nashville, TN on Thursday night....something tells me we may not see him in Aspen)
