tequila sunrise pie
Anybody seen this recipe? I believe it's in the book that comes with the Margaritaville Frozen Concoction maker. I would like to try it but can't convince my wife that we really need a 300 dollar blender.(I like my margaritas on the rocks and she knows it!)

He wants to die of relaxation with a rum drink in his hand

Tequila Sunrise Pie
This refreshing pie is a wonderfully light dessert for ending summer soirees. It tastes excellent when frozen in delicate ice cream bowls, or served on a cold platter by the pool. Serves 8.
Ingredients
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)
8 oz. cream cheese (at to room temperature)
6 oz. frozen tangerine or orange juice from concentrate (thawed)
2 tablespoons regular or Margaritaville ® Tropical Tangerine Tequila
1 cup whipping cream (whipped until very stiff)
1 tablespoon grenadine
Red food coloring (optional)
1 9-inch graham cracker crumb crust (store bought or your own)
Preparation
In medium bowl, beat together condensed milk and cream cheese.
Blend in juice and tequila.
Fold in whipped cream.
Remove 1 cup of mixture to a small bowl and blend in grenadine and 2 drops of food coloring.
Pour both mixtures into pie crust, adding the pink mixture last.
Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight until set.
Garnish as desired.

do you make the concentrate with water and then add the juice? or do you just thaw the concentrated formual and add that? In florida we are lucky we can buy fresh tangerine juice! I am just wondering.
I think putting these in some margarita glasses with just a bottom crust of graham crackers, would be a great entertaining idea!

looks like pre water.. and the glass idea sounds cool.seminolegrl06 wrote:do you make the concentrate with water and then add the juice? or do you just thaw the concentrated formual and add that? In florida we are lucky we can buy fresh tangerine juice! I am just wondering.

yeah I just might have to do that.
I was thinking it was pre water therefore stronger flavor. Adding 3/4 of a cup of OJ isn't gonna give it a real orangy taste with all that cream going on.
Flat bottom margarita glasses and maybe rimming the glasses with graham crackers as well! (oh the mouth is watering)

I would have thought at least a 1/2 cup if not a full cup...sheesh.. not worth wasting time to make that.
