Beach House On The Moon....Best Song??

Post by Dr.Corona »

My collection of Buffett are the more recent Cd's, a couple live Cd's and B.B.B.& B. The only song I've heard on B.H.O.T.M. is "Play for Gumbo". What's the best Up Tempo song on this CD?

I will Play for Gumbo or I Don't Know and I dont' Care. Like them both. Not too much "up-tempo" on this cd.

edit: ...and it's not up-tempo, but Oysters and Pearls is a classic Jimmy/Mac ballad. Love that one.

Best song...but definately not up tempo.

I Will Play for Gumbo would be my up tempo choice.

Pacing the Cage is a song that Jimmy could have easily written and did the cover exceptionally well.

Although, I do like Beach House very well.

I think Semi-True Story is a hidden gem.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

For an up tempo song on this album, I'd go with I Don't Know And I Don't Care. As for Pacing The Cage, the only thing keeping it from being my least favorite song on the album is Math Suks.

Spending Money and You Call It Jogging are the only two on this one I don't care for.

If I had to pick only ONE, however, it would be PROBABLY Flesh & Bone.
A couple close seconds would be Beach House On the Moon and Lucky Stars.

"Flesh and Bone" is a little quirky, but fun. I dig it.

"Lucky Stars" is an outstanding song for those days when nothing is going right, but you're thankful to be going home to someone you love dearly, knowing the world will be right when you see them. It's one of those "everything is right with the world" kind of songs. Love it.

I'm sitting at home RIGHT NOW with someone I love dearly, thanking my lucky stars, and KNOWING everything is right with the world, thanks to her.

Thank GOD he didn't answer a couple of my prayers from 20 years ago.

I'm only 20, but I'm with the person I'm spending the rest of my life with and I'm damn glad my prayers from high school weren't answered.

Unfortunately, the love of my life is on a plane to Germany to see her sister and nieces for Christmas, so I'm a little heartbroken. Maybe I'll listen to "Come Monday" (our song) instead! :D

You're only 20?
Hell, cherish your youth-it doesn't last long AT ALL, but as long as you keep the Schoolboy Heart, you'll never be old.
There will be many MANY Christmases ahead for you and the "love of your life," and, at least you can take comfort in the fact that family means something to her. (Wanna come spend a holiday with MY dysfunctional bunch of self-centered intermittent bafoons who'd b|tch to high heaven if someone hung them with a brand new rope)?

Maybe one song you could be playing in your mind right now would be "I LOVE THE NOW."
Thanks to my lovely wife, I thank my lucky stars every day. Your time is near too. I wish you & her the best.
And Merry Christmas to you and across the miles to her.

Take it from an old man whose been around the block more times than Rosie O'Donnell has been in the buffet line-
You've just got to make your own happiness, and it's NOT hard to do.
Go to a ball game, concert, take your girl out, watch an old classic movie, read a good book, do some charity work, or whatever.
My clan p|sses & moans about everything from the price of condoms in China to the fact that President Bush doesn't send them new freaking UNDERWEAR every month because they're so full of sh|t.
I choose not to participate in their misery, and I've become the black sheep of the family for it. Whatever-that's fine with me. At least I KNOW I'M happy. You ought to see them go into orbit when I tell them I'm getting ready to go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
THEY all hate the guy because "he's taken their black sheep away from their wallowing menucia of crap."

There's an old singing group from the 1950's called "The Tams." (Jimmy even convered their song "Flesh & Bone" on the Beach House On the Moon C.D.).
They put out a song long ago called "BE YOUNG, BE FOOLISH, BE HAPPY."
Give it a listen, learn the meaning that went into that song, and LIVE it.
Every once in a while you need to throw caution to the wind, and ALWAYS follow your heart, and NEVER make yourself miserable in order to make someone else happy.
BE YOUNG, BE FOOLISH, BE HAPPY!
ALWAYS!!!
