Jim believed until he was 9. Mollie still does and she's 7 and 1/2 but I fear this is her last year. As far as I'm concerned...if you live here, Santa will come. He comes to me (and I hear he's bringing me a Live DVD I wanted!) he's bringing Hubby tactical wear for the academy and he's bringing Jim and Mollie a sleigh full!
If ANYONE told my kids, I'd be some kinda POed. It's like loosing a piece of innocence you can never reclaim. It's very sad to me.

DUMB that they'd believe some fat slob could fit through a chimney with a huge sack full of toys and other crap.
How can they not be on to him? over 1 billion stops on ONE night in a little sleigh with junk for EVERYBODY?
I'm no scrooge, but COME ON! (Not much of a scrooge, anyway).
I figured it out when I was 8 and noticed that every time Santa Claus came to our house, my Uncle Jim's Rambler was parked in our driveway.
My father would tell me it was just a coincidence, while my mother told me the Rambler was Santa's present to Uncle Jim.
Then, when I got BOTH of my parents together, I asked them which one had been lying to me.
Watching them try to wiggle out of that one was more fun than watching a monkey screw a football.
NOW USE YOUR G.D. HEAD, KIDS-US FAT PEOPLE
CANNOT GET DOWN YOUR STUPID CHIMNEY.
Now shut up, get to bed, and DON'T forget to leave beer & nachos out for ol' Santa. You idiots!
OH! And Merry Christmas.

What about the magic dust!!!!!!!!!
That was left behind back in those crazy '80's

i'd be a little frustrated with the school i'd imagine, but sheesh, it's the parents who have been perpetuating a big, fat lie for so long.
i think cubbie posted this for me last year after i was so devastated, 3 weeks before xmas, that my daughter was on to us. at our house, as long as you still believe, santa still comes, whether you are 8 or 80.

hey now!
Didn't you ALSO tell little Tony that there's no Santa???? bah humbug!!!
I remember you posted about this dilemma last year
I agree with JMMom, ...let their friends break them into the "No Santa" notion... they feel like THEY figured it out.
but dashing that bit of innocence just seems a little grinchy to me..

I remember how much trouble I got into for telling my little sister. Of course the little brat said "I really don't think there's a Santa Claus- do you?" and immediately ran to Mom and Dad and said I told her there was no Santa. I could only imagine what would have happened if a teacher told her that!

a 9 year old neighbor told my son at school... Eric was about 7 and at dinne he told me and before I could come up with an answer he said.... "But I told Rory he was wrong because there's no way my parents could afford all those presents"
I had to bite my cheek not to laugh so I could whole-heartedly agree with him.

You mean I stayed up late waiting for Santa for nothing??

Have to let him in the door because the chimney in this old house was covered so he can't get in that way.
