WHY NOT NASHVILLE?
I WAS WONDERING, WHY HAS IT BEEN SO LONG SINCE JIMMY HAS DONE A CONCERT IN NASHVILLE? IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR REASON?

I've been asking this
ever since the Nashville concerts stopped (or paused, as I like to say). I think we came to the consensus that the venue did something wrong, and there's no FRIGGIN' tailgating there. Jimmy really doesn't like to play where there's no tailgating for his peeps, with certain exceptions.
ah, I've posted on a Nashville thread now I feel SO much better.
If Jimmy came to Memphis, I'd be very glad, it's one hour closer to my home.

It was AmSouth (Starwood) Amphitheater. We tailgated at the Best WEstern closest to the venue, but there were mini-tailgates all over the area around the amphitheater. It wasn't until I got to go to the Cincinnati concerts that I truly experienced the REAL tailgate event.trojan_sixtyone wrote:When he played Nashville, where was the venue?
I can't think of a really good venue in Nashville for a Buffett-sized crowd. I am a huge Titans fan, though, so I'd LOVE to see him play LP Field sometime. It'll hold just under 70,000--I think he could fill it for a one-night-only performance!
And it would be great to have it at the Coliseum, but only on the field itself...can you imagine thousands of tipsy Parrotheads up in those STEEP STEEP seats? I can. "Uh oh, there goes another one !"

From all the Titans games I've been to, I can tell you this: if the drunken, jumping, dancing, rowdy Titans fans haven't gone over the railing in the last 7 years since the Colesium was built, a JB concert wouldn't make it happen either.citcat wrote:It was AmSouth (Starwood) Amphitheater. during the LTC tour I asked Mac (when he played a solo gig in Atlanta) to ask Jimmy to stop by Nashville for all you people. I told Mac it just made sense seeing that the first dubbed Country Buffett album was so successful.
Well you see how big an influence I am on that sort of thing

When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

hey fastmovin angel,
i heard some time ago that they were going to stop having concerts at the pyramid. is this true? maybe it was some artist that wasn't going to the pyramid anymore. one or the other. it's a nice place. if jimmy came to memphis where would he do a concert. if he did i would hope it would be close to the barbecue festival!!
i'm hungry just thinking about the bbq.

As a fellow TNer, I miss the Nashville concerts too...heck, I even offered my amphitheater shaped front yard!!!
But no luck!
I guess I'll have to keep going "home" to Florida for shows...damn the luck!
