Shortly after moving into my house, many years ago, I discovered a large hornets nest in the bushes alongside my driveway.
Not knowing what to do, I called Animal Control for my town-they sent someone out who basically removed the nest and torched it, so apparently that is a common solution to a nasty problem.
YUCK!

Just for the record...your typical everyday honey bee WILL NOT sting you unless threaten them. They are very calm creatures...I know all of this because my dad was an amature bee keeper....I have had dozens of bee land on me and not sting...The are a very important part of the environment..they pollinate flowers, plants, etc...
IF anyone should have this problem...find a bee keeper...you local agriculture office should have some names....they will usually come out and remove the swarm for free....
