Are you ready for a new game? It's called Pin The Pic! My roommate Oscar thinks I'm a nut but I keep telling him that I was known as Mr. Fun in college. Anyhoo...
Pin The Pic is like pin the tail on the donkey only with a twist.
I will submit to you some of my photographs...Felix Unger..portraits a specialty. You will give me the name of the pic. OK here's the twist for all you Parottheaded BN'ers.
This will be Jimmy Buffett based. I prefer opera but there's no accounting for taste....buh dum bum.
Each photo from my personal portfolio that I post will be my interpretation of a Jimmy Buffett song. Your job is to give me the correct answer that I have set for the photo.
The tournament begins on Tuesday 1/16/06. Latecomers are welcome to join. Here are the rules and round formats:
Round Types:
1) Point and Shoot: this round type is exactly like the practice rounds. I will post a pic, you will guess the title of the Buffet song I pinned on it that represents the photo posted. Have as many guesses as you like but only one guess at a time. The first one to pin the pic wins the round. Point and Shoots will be posted at random times. There is no limit set for the Point And Shoot Rounds. Correct answers are worth 20 points.
2) Zoom: this round type will be a little different. I will submit a pic. You will pm me your answer. TWO answers per person is accepted on Zoom rounds. You will have 24 hours from the time of posting to submit your answer. So, take your time, think hard and choose wisely. The points given on Zoom rounds are the highest. DO NOT POST ANSWERS IN THE FORUM. There will be 23 Zoom Rounds. Correct answers are worth 200 points.
3) Wide Angle: this round type allows YOU to be the host. Each person will be asked in list order to post a pic. Oscar will host these rounds. Before posting, you must send Oscar the title of the Jimmy Buffett song that you have chosen and then you may post your pic. This is a three answer per person format. PM all of your answers to Oscar. Everyone, including the person posting the pic, has 24 hours to post/submit your answers to Oscar. Here is the twist: if no one guesses the answer correctly, the points will be doubled and go to the poster. DO NOT POST ANSWERS IN THE FORUM. There will be 23 Wide Angle Rounds. Correct answers are worth 50 points. If a correct answer is not given, the contestant that posted the pic will be awarded 100 points.

To post a pic..assuming you have found one....click on the full size image, once it is open, right click the pic. A box will open up, click properties. A new window will open up. Then, you highlight and copy the URL address. To post the image in BN, post a reply like usual, click the image (IMG) button, paste the URL address of the pic, click the image (IMG) button again and voila...your pic is posted. In the event of the dreaded "red x", simply pm Oscar the URL address along with your answer. He will send you the image and code for you to post. It's easier than it sounds. You have until Tuesday. Try this primer out in the meantime for practice.
In the practice rounds, the only answers that were in play were studio recorded songs. In the tournament, ALL songs in the BN song database are in play. Click on the BuffettNews.com font at the top of the screen, click on song database on the left hand side of the page, go to ALL SONGS and there are all of the answers.
By the end of the tournament, you will all be champion Pin The Pic-ers. So, get ready! We're almost there! Most of all, have some fun and enjoy the game!
