The Police rumors
With Sting having finished up his work/touring for his latest album, a Police reunion would make sense right about now. There have been rumors for years now, but it seems like it finally might happen. I was never old enough to have seen the Police live, but from what I hear from many people who did get to see them, they were an amazing live band.

I never got a chance to see The Police in concert, but did see Sting in 1987's Nothing Like The Sun tour
I hope they get back together,I'd love to see them

Saw the Police twice..........now if these guys get back together for some shows, RUN......don't walk to the ticket counter to get your duckets!! Major danceathon breaks out at their shows. SUPER energy!!
I know Sting is doing classical music shows until the middle of March so this must be in the works for late summer/fall/winter 2007.

I am a huge fan, and they are one of the few bands that have gone out while they were at the absolute top. I hope it happens, but I heard a recent interview with Stewart for his movie and he said that while he holds out hope, he just doesnt see Sting doing it.
But I would pay lots to see it if it did!!

These days tickets to see any major musical act are gonna cost an arm and a legTiki Torches wrote:I'd like to see 'em but not if tickets are gonna cost an arm and a leg (which they most likely will).

I wouldn't say any. Some groups make an effort to keep ticket prices down, like Pearl Jam for instance.myke212 wrote:These days tickets to see any major musical act are gonna cost an arm and a legTiki Torches wrote:I'd like to see 'em but not if tickets are gonna cost an arm and a leg (which they most likely will). It's just an unfotunate fact of life.

True. Pearl Jam seems to be one of the exceptions.Tiki Torches wrote:I wouldn't say any. Thank you for pointing that out.

I think just 2 of the shows. Sting was on the tour the whole time I believe. It was a horribly kept secret.

Here's a link to another article I found today. It states that the tour could possibly start as soon as May/June!

I saw them in 1978 or 79 in a bar in Tucson. They weren't terribly polished but they did exhibit lots of energy. I was glad that I hadn't paid more the $5.00 to see them because they weren't worth it then. A couple years later I saw them in a much larger venue and they had clearly honed their chops and put on one heck of a show.

Saw Sting 2 years ago when he toured as a 4 person band (bass, 2 guitars, & drums) and the majority of the songs he played were Police tunes. I remember some real surprises that night like Sprints In The Material World and Driven to Tears and Voices Inside My Head. He mentioned during the show how he had avoided most of these songs for years but felt it was time now to start playing them again. It seemed then like he was ready for a possible reunion. A tour would be nice but some new material and then a tour would be better.

Yeah the "Broken Music Tour" was great. I wasn't able to make it to the Boston or Providence shows but I did get up to Manchester, NH for his show there. It was really great to hear him playing all those old Police tunes again.Tampico wrote:Saw Sting 2 years ago when he toured as a 4 person band (bass, 2 guitars, & drums) and the majority of the songs he played were Police tunes.
