Anyone have experience with... Auto Transport
Today's request for suggestions regarding this "learning trip" to LA is....
Does anyone have experience with shipping automobiles either on covered trucks or open trailers? The original plan was for me to help drive out there and fly back. As much as I would love to make a cross country trip, I'm not sure I could swing enough vacation days to make the trip twice. So now I'm considering either shipping the car out there or shipping it back or both.

I don't have any experience shipping, unfortunately, but I wonder if it might be cheaper to lease a car out there, short term?

the gas there and back may come close to that bill, never mind wear and tear on the car......land_shark3 wrote:For 2 months? Hmmm, quite possible. So far the best rate I've seen is $1200-1400.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:I don't have any experience shipping, unfortunately, but I wonder if it might be cheaper to lease a car out there, short term?

Yup, gonna cost about the same to ship it as it would to lease a car.ph4ever wrote:maybe this will help http://www.calcruising.com/AutoTranspor ... lator.html
Well, I guess that means we're in for the long haul or renting a car. Thanks for the advice and links.
Now does anyone have suggestions on rental companies? The cheapest I found was through Rent4Less, but I have never heard of them.
