From his comments, sounds lile you'll be needing a plane ticket and a passport....

Wow...how cool is that!! What a wonderful adventure on the far side of the world.... :D And hanging out with the USAid folks...pretty cool. I went to a desert oasis festival in the Siani once...amazing. And he's right, the African desert stars are the brightest I've ever seen.

On another note, hearing about Mail reminds me of an adventurous friend who was going to do a camel trek across the Mali desert a few years ago. Sadly, just a month before he was to go the guy who was to have been his guide was killed by bandits so he never made that trip. So then a few months later my buddy set off to do a solo canoe trip down the Ohio River. Something happened and he never made it...but he was an adventurous spirit who died doing something he loved.

Checking passport...got five more years and room for plenty more stamps.... :D

I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it. :-?

JB doesn't seem like the type to "evade" things to me; he's probably just making decisions based on what's right for him and his family.

Besides, wasn't it about this time last year, or just a little later, that JB called RM from one of his sojourns and announced that he was taking the summer off?

That was the call from the boat, off the coast of Palm Beach. Jimmy sounded sauced up that night. If I remember correctly, the kids were going off to boarding school.

And he later credited the inaccuracies to the rum and merlot....

...but I thought Buffett wasn't much of a drinker these days? At least according to the accusations leveled at the writer of the Slate article. Here, it sounds like those qualities are being championed.
