If anyone ever asked the question "What is the opposite of a vegetarian" the answer would be "Frankie."

Nothing to laugh about, Macphin, these products are viable alternative for people for a multitude of reasons. Lowering cholesterol being one of them!

Hope this helped!

i think you may have misunderstood me. we were laughing at the concept of veggie cheese. we ( tag & I) think of cheese as vegetarin so it seemed kind of redundant. vegan cheese is something different.

in addition,we weren't laughing at my m-i-l directly..just the cheese thing. she has really lowered her cholesterol, which she needs to do. way too much heart disease on her side of the family. we give her a ton of credit because she eats the same few foods every day. i'd never be able to do it that way. i love food too much.
Sorry, I didn't mean that as a criticism! Having worked in the Natural Food Industry, we saw so many people that alternative products help have a more normal life!

There is a product called Tofutti! It is a tofu based "Ice Cream Alternative"!

I just about cried when a mother came in and said: You Know now my daughter can have her "Ice Cream" and be "normal" like the rest of the kids. Kids can be cruel sometimes. They didn't understand why she couldn't have real ice cream!

BTW, If you see Tofutti, try it! I swear you can't tell it from conventional Ice Cream!

No offense intended, Please forgive me!

hey ph216,

no offense taken. i didn't want you to think we were making fun of her and her dire situation. :)

thanks for the clarification on the cheese. they should just say or call it soy cheese or tofu cheese instead of veggie cheese.

I thought everyone liked Velveeta and Cheeze Whiz...both of which are a pasturized processed cheese food...

That is not food.

PH216- My dad had better results with red wine than Lipitor. He's pretty much a functional alcoholic now, but his cholesterol is good.
