Parcells retires...again.
IRVING, Texas -- Bill Parcells retired from coaching Monday, leaving the Dallas Cowboys after four seasons and ending a stellar career that featured three Super Bowl appearances and two championships.
The announcement came 15 days after the Cowboys' season ended with a heartbreaking playoff loss in Seattle. He'd been at his office nearly every day since, and there were other indications that the 65-year-old coach was returning for a fifth year in Dallas and 20th as an NFL head coach.
"I am in good health and feel lucky to have been able to coach in the NFL for an extended period of time," he said in a statement. "I leave the game and the NFL with nothing but good feelings and gratitude to all the players, coaches and other people that have assisted me in that regard."

As much as I would have liked to see him stay another year, I'm glad he announced a decision early and put an end to all of the speculation. I just hope he doesn't look back and regret his decision, because life is too short for that. He will be missed by a lot of people who aren't the world's biggest Jerry Jones fans, myself included.

Carroll maybe(Has it made at USC).......The rest i don't think would want to put up with TO!!!!....I thing it will be a hard job to fill!!CaptainP wrote:Can't wait to see the coaching search...Jones doesn't go into these things looking for the BEST coach, he looks for the one that will make the biggest splash!!!
Early speculation includes Pete Carroll, Jeff Fisher, Charlie Weiss, Bill Cowher. Big names only need apply!

It will be tough. But Jones wouldn't consider anyone who isn't a big name...TommyBahama wrote:Carroll maybe(Has it made at USC).......The rest i don't think would want to put up with TO!!!!....I thing it will be a hard job to fill!!CaptainP wrote:Can't wait to see the coaching search...Jones doesn't go into these things looking for the BEST coach, he looks for the one that will make the biggest splash!!!

The ones that I listed...Weiss isn't moving. The buyout on his contract is too big. Fisher has a job in the NFL...on an upcoming playoff team. Why leave that? Cowher? Too soon. Carroll? I don't think he'll leave USC, but he's the most likely.TommyBahama wrote:I agree with you there!!...but i think the seasoned good coaches will think twice!!!CaptainP wrote:It will be tough. He's a name. Hasn't had the success Jones likes, though...TommyBahama wrote:How about Steve Mariucci.......he had TO IN SF!!!CaptainP wrote:The ones that I listed...Weiss isn't moving.
