Nothing to do with Buffett, sad to say.

When I was going to marry Steve, I happened to say "Oh My God, I'm going to be a bug" and the nickname stuck ever since. (Last name is Roach).

Although it is fun to have guests over and to tell them that they are staying at the Roach Motel - you can check in but you never check out :o

Fu Corleone kinda of a long story but I will make it as short and sweet as possible like me....LOL. Some think its F U Corleone but its F with a little u.

Fu= Growing up I had a best friend who's mom was from Bermuda. My best friends cousin used to come up to visit every summer. Anyway one day after hanging out and stuff the cousin asked me what's my background. I told him that my Father is Chinese and my mom is Scotish and Danish. He said oh I thought you looked Asian, like Kung Fu. Anyway he kept on calling me Kung Fu.... the name stuck .....but my friends started calling me Fu because they thought Kung Fu was too long to say. Since then that's what everyone calls me except my mother and father...lol

Corleone= In my later years, on New Years Eve a bunch of my friends and I went out in NYC. Anyway we all got dressed up. Suits and dresses. Anyway one of my friends when they saw me in a suit and my hair slicked back said....Hey man you look like mafiaoso. Like the italian mafia, Don Corleone. So he said Fu Corleone, cus everyone called me Fu all the time.

Anyway thats the story. Some people call me Fu, some Corleone , some call me Fu Corleone or Mr Soprano or Erik Soprano too. Some call me other names I'd not like to mention cus this is a family board. LOL

Sorry for the long story.......
Actually this is the best story I've heard on the subject so far.
Well done, Fu! :pirate:

Sigh! Didn't know it was a competition (heh, heh). Okay just for the sake
of argument, buffetbride has the best short, female story and fu corleone
has the best long, male story. Please don't take THAT the wrong way.
Anyway it's just my humble opinion. :pirate: All in good fun.

See my screen name has nothing to do with Buffett, so Buffettbride's is the best and Balcony Girl!! If Jimmy Nicknamed me Fu Corleone....Then I'd have a great story there.... LOL

Mine came together quite easily.

I usually have different names on different boards, I think as we all do, or at least started that way. Well, I used to be Wigman on most, or variations of that, due to may Big 80's Hair from back in the day. Yes, I'm a guy, but in the 80's, metal and hair were important. We since I wasn't blessed with long, flowing locks and mine just tended to grow . . . out, I kinda looked more like Wierd Al Yankovic than any of the Metal Gods out there. The guys used to bust on my "wig", and I became , affectionately, Wigman.

Well enter the 30's, real job and clipped locks. While Wigman was funny from the past, it didn't fit me anymore. A few years ago, when I first started getting heavy into Buffett and the Keys, I joined the Margaritaville boards. I needed something that fit me more at this time. I had just been reading the history of the Conch Republic on their site and I thought "Conch Republican", perfect. It fits what my interest is now, and it also fits my life view. Actually, then it would be Conch Right Wing Gun Toting Radical Conservative, [smilie=gunhappyyank.gif] but it just doesn't have the same flow. You know what I mean?

Anyway, This name is very available on other boards and sites, so slowly I'm changing over to be more consistant, and to keep those notes with names and passwords to a minimum!
