Okay question...I was looking at the receipt from McDonalds, and under the subtotal was the tax, as usual. But it wasn't simply called "tax." According the McD's, I paid an "Eat-In Tax." Does that mean if I got the meal to go, I wouldn't have paid tax? Are they charging me to sit at their table instead of my own?
around here, it's a like a restaurant tax....food at the grocery store is taxed differently than "prepared" food....

I'd imagine it's just a Tax, and that the "Eat-In" portion just designated whether you had your food to-go, or eat-in. So McD's can track eating habits and such so they know if they wasted a bag or a tray liner on you

Purchased beads don't count. You have to earn them.
Today's purchase: rope and duct tape.

JB10, it is exactly that. If you order food togo, they don't collect tax on the food. But if you dine in, they are required to charge you sales tax!
Here in Ohio, any carbonated beverage, is taxed, eat in or take out. But food "ordered to go" isn't taxed!

Even if you decide to "change your mind later and eat in anyway!
