WOO HOO!!! That means one more year of 8-8 or 9-7 without preparing for the future. GO BEARS

Pretty selfish on his part if you ask me. What's his motivation to come back? Can't be the money. That leaves him actually thinking they'll "contend".

Unfortunately he's seen as the second coming here in Wisconsin so he'll never get pulled from the game. Rodgers gets to sit another year and rebuilding gets put off another year. When I told my brother in law the news (die hard lifelong Packer fan) his first reaction was "Great, another 8-8 year with maybe 20 TDs and 25 interceptions. Way to cap a career Brett. Probably coming back just to get the TD record from Marino." So joy isn't exactly overwhelming fans here.

While he is rightfully a first ballot Hall of Famer, his glory days are in the past. Unfortunately great QBs have a problem with staying around one or two years too many. Look at Archie Manning, Joe Montana in a Chiefs uniform etc...Admittedly I'm not a Packer fan. I grew up loving the 49ers and lived in Chi-town for 16 years, but I love the game and seeing one of it's greatest stars in the past 15 years limp out an extra year or two is just sad.

As Indiana Jolly Mon said, Brett is a great guy (met him at a car dealership he had a promotion with) and I respect what he's done in the past, but if he cared about the future of the organization he'd step aside and let the rebuilding begin sooner rather than later. Nobody wants to remember their hero going out on a losing team with embarrassingly weak stats.

I'm glad he'll be back for one more year, but when I saw the title of this thread, I thought GEORGE Brett would be making a resurgence. :(

Great news!!! Probably fair to say even past his prime he's better than most starting QB's in the NFL. He's not going to hurt the Packers.

I'd rather see him have another mediocre year in GB than see him playing for some other team, so I guess I'm happy.

This only hurts the GB effort to rebuild. They need to get that their QB of the future in games and working for the future.

He's a great competitor and a legend of his time.

I remember how tough it was to move on past Dan Fouts in the '80's
We waited too long, drafted poorly and took a good 5 years to make suitable replacement

He should have retired 2 years ago after he was on tv questioning the direction of the organization and his own desire to continue playing.

Easy there That was the same year his Dad and BIL died and his wife had breast cancer. I'm guessing all of us would be asking all sort of questions about our futures.

Face it-the man still has the desire and a winning attitude.
If I were a Packers fan, I'd say BRING HIM BACK.

You forgot #4 on your top 11 list of all time QB's too :P

He does own every QB record in the NFL except one... I think

Only because he's still active, and his "final resting place" on the all-time list is yet to be determined.
(But you can be sure he'll go down as being almost as good as that Indy guy).
