does anyone know what Bruce's talking about when he sings about a sixty pound stone? I don't thing the tanks are made of stone!

No, but I think the idea is that all of the equipment, tank, etc, is like having a 60 pound stone on your back.

I am so hooked on that album. It was a long time before I could listen to it without crying. There are some really powerful lyrics if you take the time to listen.

"You're Missing" still gets to me every time.

Me too-I think it is an incredibly underrated and underappreciated album.

One of my favorite songs on this album is My City Of Ruins. From what I understand, Bruce wrote it several years before September 11 and it's about the decline of Asbury Park.

I'm glad to see some Bruce fans here. He often gets a bit short-changed on these boards. Some of the criticism is his voice, which I think is great. But in the end it doesn't matter as he's a singer song-writer and I can't say that Jimmy has a great voice, or the majority of similar performers.
Great album with moving songs but I don't know what he's referring to here. I"ll have to google the lyrics.
