Political correctness gone amok.

Some windbags have way too much time on their hands.

I've seen worse in prime time TV.

I commented on it during the performance, and my girlfriend and I were not even watching closely, but that scene caught both of our attention.
Was it on purpose (or was it our dirty minds), I don't know. Image

I didn't notice, but I wasn't watching all that closely. But even if he DID do it on prupose, I guess I don't think it's worth people getting all worked up about....

In the words of a great songwriter, "A great many people in this world are wound about a quarter turn too tight."

There's no way that Prince didn't do that on purpose. Now, whether or not the producers of the show knew it was coming.....that I'd doubt. I don't know that it warrants all the talk....so I guess I'll shut up now

It certainly wouldn't surprise me at all if it was intentional. Anyone remember back in the 80s when his guitar was used to represent a large phallus and he would spray "water" all over the crowd during his "Darling Nicky" song? He's always had a bit of an obsession with parts of his anatomy. The lyrics of the song put that action into context quite plainly.

That being said, his performance doesn't bother me one way or the other. I'm just not a fan at all.

Most everything Jack Bauer has done to another human being on "24" is more shocking than Prince's performance at the Super Bowl.... :P

The whole thing with that odd-shaped guitar was quite suggestively creepy, but then, so is Prince. He was a trouper for going on in that downpour, though!

To quote Freud "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar..."
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
