Better to get married on Valentine's Day.

(Then the flowers are virtually half-price...)

I'm just sayin'!

While its a good idea, not then either.

Not that I have it planned or anything.
I'm so dense I didn't know you even had a girl to propose to...  What matters is putting the thought into it to make it special.
And I wasn't actually looking for advice. Just getting some thoughts from the BN crowd. After watching the proposal tonight, I got curious.
I love a good proposal story. :D :D
It was kinda funny actually. Its a great spot, right on the beach. And the waiter walks over to check on them, see if they need more drinks, just as dude is popping the question. He looks at the the guy, and he's got this weird look on his face. So he looks at the girl and she's crying.

He couldn't get out of there fast enough.

It really doesn't matter what day a proposal happens, as long as there are Oreos involved... [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

My son proposed in a gazebo at a restaurant on Cozumel (the happy couple were working there at the time) and they were married on a ski hill 2 or 3 years later (they were working there, by then).

Two of my daughters proposed to their prospective husbands, one on a birthday, one immediately after a Christmas-vacation apart. The third hasn't yet (or so she tells me).

I don't remember what date I was proposed to on...but I do remember all the details of the proposal, i.e., where we were, what was said, etc.
It was a total surprise, and terribly romantic.

The important thing now, is our Wedding Anniversary. Image
Choose that date carefully.

We chose the Winter Solstice (even though the date varies every year, it's still within a few days of our Anniversary),
so we would have a happy day in the midst of the winter, could cuddle and know that from that day forward the days would be getting longer.

My parents had a Valentine's wedding - Bride in white, bridesmaids (all seven of them :o ) in red.
This year was their 53rd anniversary - and it seems to have worked out quite well for them.

getting married on the 14th to save money on flowers is a bad idea for the reason mentioned.
