So I paid my Sprint Cell phone bill on Saturday and because I guess I did it, according to them during the time they are synching everything with Nextel my account has gone into soem great vaccuum where I can get phone calls btu can't make any. I've called several times and finally got through late last night got all the assurances that it would be fixed but alas it is not. ugh! I'm traveling out of state in a few hours and would like to have a working cell. I'm on hold again. double ugh!

Tell 'em, "Fix it NOW or I'm canceling my account and moving to (pick anoter provider)....."

I had Sprint and left because they became intolerable. They overbilled me frequently, charged me for customer service and were just not a fun bunch to deal with. I wanted out of my contract so bad but didnt want to be charged the early termination fee. I kept having signal problems and dropped calls. They told me my phone was outdated and offered me a "credit" towards another one. I told them I want going to put more money into another phone. I stated that this is a problem on their part. They agreed and I was out clean....out clean I tell ya. I didn't have to pay the early termination fee and life was good.

I moved over to Tmobile a number of years ago and have been quite happy with them.

On a side note, there are alot of websites dedicated to Sprint horror stories. I am sure there are a few for every provider but you might check into the Sprint ones. You might be able to find some answers.

That is possible should I be able to get one on the phone again! :)

Sprint was rated one of the worst services before their merger with Nextel (which had pretty good service). Since then, they have dragged Nextel down.

That is so odd because for a long time Sprint was well-known among the telecommunications company as the one with great customer service. I worked there for several years and we definitely had the "work 'til the customer is satisfied" approach to everything. I worked on the LD side, though, not wireless. That's too bad because I really enjoyed working there.

Yep. The other thing is that the network for Nextel was far superior as well.

You think so? That is another thing Sprint touted for so long, was it's nationwide network. They were the first ones to offer it. I've been so outta the loop.

My company offers wireless but leases the Sprint network. I wonder how much of our traffic is actually on Nextel.

I think the whole potential merger with MCI/WorldCom a few years back really took a toll on the company. That was just as I left the company and I remember the day the stock split (yay!) and then after that it seemed to decline.

Sprint used to be good with the network but had fallen behind a lot of the wireless providers.

Evidently. I've heard folks be consistently happy with T-Mobile.

Wireless service is definitely love/hate. You either love your provider or hate 'em.

I think that depends on where you live. Verizon is generally excellent in the northeast and mid-Atlantic state. I also had really good service in Texas and in Florida (I have Verizon). I had a friend who had TMobile but didn't have great service in DC.

I got somebody and after telling me that there was a problem with payemnt on my account ( which there wasn't and they later admitted to) they admitted that it was indeed because of the Nextel merger and that anticpated that it will be fixed in the next few hours and I needed to be. Man I am not happy. It's been 48 hours, that's pretty patient....

I got the run around fron suncom when they merged with cingular. They told me they were coverting towers. My phone still worked but I could not see my caller ID or get text messages. After two weeks they finally told me I needed a new phone which meant a new contract. I switched to Alltel and havent had any problems
