OK, so I gave it a few spins while out of the office. Right now I'll say I prefer Timothy B. Schmidt's version from Hell Freezes Over. But Alan's voice did surprise/amaze me on this cut.East Texas Parrothead wrote:I keep listening to it over and over ... I've heard the Eagles version so many more times that I expected to hear it that way from Alan, which didn't help his cause. But I'll not cut it from my shuffle-play and will listen with great volume whenever I can.

What impressed me the most was that Alan was up there going it alone, save the backup singers. I haven't heard the other version you're talking about, but I'll check it out!

I almost went to the Texas Stadium show but I couldn't bring myself to. I like Strait but not Jackson. I am not a huge fan of straight up country music. I felt that I might have been wasting my money. As a result I am not buying the CD. If you shoot me please aim center mass.

I didn't go to the Texas Stadium show, either. But, I do love the mix of Buffett and Strait/Jackson. They're just guys out there having some fun ...danielmorgan03 wrote:I almost went to the Texas Stadium show but I couldn't bring myself to. I like Strait but not Jackson. The night I first heard that on CMT, I went right to itunes and bought the Eagles VERSION. I agree that it is one of the best cuts on the LiveatTS CD.East Texas Parrothead wrote:Anyone else really struck by Jackson's (and his backup singers) vocals/harmonies on SEVEN BRIDGES ROAD? The more I listen, the better it sounds (and no, I'm not dranking) ... he did that live ... no sitting in a studio with sound engineer to tweak it, although I'm sure this cut was worked on ... it's just sturnning, IMHO.

Wow, it's great to see those photos. I wish I could be back there right now. Sitting on the boat, chilling out, the night before was just about perfect. It'll be great to see everyone again!!!
