PHP is only opening the North Blue Stadium East Parking Lot on Friday night. I was planning to get a big helium balloon to use for a landmark, but it might be better for someone who will be there Friday night to get that instead. Party City has 3 ft helium balloons for $6 to $9. That would make it easy for everyone to find each other in the blue lot on Friday.

Any volunteers to get the balloon?

Bill, when you talked to PHP about grills, what exactly did they say?

There's someone from the LSPHC that wants to bring a smoker that's propane started..wood burning.

The PHP web site says..propane only...no charcoal or lighter fluid, but doesn't mention smokers.

Can you clarify?

Smokers are ok. The impression I got is that they just don't want open fires.

So I went out to PHP last night to check out the location (yes... in the rain). A couple of thoughts:

1. There are no gates! Anywhere! How are they going to "open" lots in the morning if there's no method of closing parking lots? Barriers?

2. The park area between the green lots is BIG and looks pretty nice

3. The green lots are a LOT farther from the stadium then they look on the map. While this makes it the perfect place for a more restricted-access party location, I'm a little concerned that my guests won't get to see what the rest of a Jimmy Buffett tailgate party looks like (since everyone else will be at the blue lots I think). 98% of my guests have never been to a concert before.

Just soliciting thoughts and avoiding work right now Oh yeah, judging by the previous Hoot Island parties, does anyone predict this being More, or Less family oriented then the rest of the festivities? Sometimes we get pretty crazy and have been known to warp a mind or two LOL.

All of this is kinda a moo point if the confirmed list keeps growing like it has 560+? Are you kidding me? Great job Mr Play.

We went to PHP to check it out a couple of weekends ago and they had rope barricades at the parking lot entrances.

We have friends staying at the Blue lot and just plan a little "walking tour" to visit with them. Seems with 560+ we won't miss seeing a thing, it will all be at our location!

I know my keet [8] and a number of others are coming, but I'll be monitoring things so I can re-direct him should I see something he shouldn't.

Yes, the lot is further back, but there is a direct walkway from the pavillion to the stadium that splits the soccer fields, so just warn your folks.

I agree with Dez...Buffett tailgates are by and large an adult event...keets are always around (heck mine grew up around it) but it is up to the parent-parrotts to monitor what the keets see and are exposed to...
