The longer he stays the more controversy it brings and who doesn't love good fun controversy on TV
Besides it also makes Howard Stern's Thursday morning show that much better

Stern is fantastic on satellite. I think the whole vote for Sanjaya thing is too funny. What I find even more hilarious are adults that get so upset over it.
He just said dialidol.com, which measures the busy signals for each contestant has a bleak outlook for Sanjaya tonight

The world has turned on its axis.
The website ... dialidol.com .... has PHIL ahead of Jordin. And has "Did you know nasally is a form of singing" Chris AHEAD of both Melinda and Lakisha?
Oh, please. Deliver me.

And I am happy to say that

I actually tried voting the full two hours after the show ended and couldn't get through once for Sanjaya. I'm worried they might have blocked the phone lines and the fix is in to get rid of him (as Simon clearly hates him).
Every other contestant is terrible though....so I figure why not keep the one contestant alive who at least keeps the show fun?
Go Sanjaya....we need you to be the American Idol of 2007.

Sanjaya needs to go.
I think Jordin is now the favorite to win- she did an amazing job last night

I so agree. And, remember ... the kid is only 17 ... such presence and such talent. As compared to SanBYEya. Blech.

Yes, she does have such poise. I think she could do well on radio too with the right people working with her.

In my own opinion, I think Melinda has the best voice, most consistent performances, etc. I like Jordin, but think somehow the 17 year old thing will end up working against her. Blake, to me, seems to be the most comfortable performer this year. Decent voice and a lot of stage presence. He probably won't win, but he has a future in the music biz.

I think Blake could be the Chris Daughtry of this year. He probably won't win but he will do well commercially I think.

She's not a rocker, but she's really good. I'm just not a big Blake phan. I don't think one of the boys this year is as good as Lakisha, Melinda or Jordin. Lakisha has just lost her *spar*kle ... no pun intended ... I think she's given up ... I'm not a Melinda phan. Given her years on the stage, she should be a lot more entertaining. The deer in the headlights posture is also wearing thin. She must be a lovely person, but I'm tired of the gosh, golly, gee, you like me a la Sally Field reaction everytime someone compliments her.
Just my Idol thoughts.

I'd vote for him if I could. And I don't even watch the show.

Case in point of why I believe Jordin has the most potential to be and would be the best choice for the American Idol:
http://www.tmz.com/2007/04/18/jordin-sp ... on-frenzy/
The people that buy albums (as opposed to the people that simply listen to a lot of music) are watching her... right now they are buying the dress she wears on the show, and in the future, they will buy the albums she makes. That can't and won't be said about any other contestant than possibly Blake.

I don't think necessarily left too early last season... in hindsight, I believe he is perfectly happy to have finished '4th'... he maintained a lot of credibility that way. And it served him well with the success of the record.

I actually stopped watching 2 weeks ago (just lost interest) but love reading this board. However, I do so agree regarding Melinda's "deer in headlights" observation, as well as the "gosh, golly, gee"...gave me a good chuckle 'cause it's so true!
