At this hour, and wine consumption, spelling does not count. ;)

EWF - I saw them in the late 70's live in Denver. I just couldn't listen, they sounded horrible. :-?

I enjoyed the group song with Quincy Jones. ;)

Couldn't take more than a few seconds of Jack Black. :-?

I kinda laughed at the Bee Gee's stuff. :)

Josh Grobin sang amazingly.

Celine and Elvis?? :-?

Annie Lennox?? Did not sound good, and wear a bra!! :-? :-?

And to end it?? That was soooo not nice to Jordin.

That's as good as I can do right now ... but I'm firing off scalding emails to both addresses.

A curse on ANYONE that was involved in that massacre tonight. I'm *still* boiling over it ....

Can you *$%^&@! believe that? It made me ill. Really.

I think everyone in that audience was shocked, stunned, hurt and I'll bet, right now...they're really, really p***!

For those who missed it:

Last night at the end of the show when they were going to reveal who was voted off.......the last two people standing were Chris and Jordin. Ryan turns to Chris and tells him he's safe.....leaving Jordin just standing there. A hush fell over the crowd--you could tell everyone was shocked. He let that hang in the air for a sec and then tells Jordin she's safe too.....that they weren't voting anyone off tonight b/c it was a special charity event and that this week's votes would be added to next week's votes and next week they will vote off two people.

Jordin was in tears. Her parents looked so shocked. It was just really mean to do that to her......and to us! My stomach dropped for a second. I couldn't believe she would be voted off!

It also irritated me that I watched that crap for two hours just to see who would be voted off and they didn't do it!

ETP--Thanks for posting those email addresses--I think I will be sending a letter, too. (Also, I'm interested to see your editorial, if you don't mind sharing....... :) )

HA! And you're upset about this!? They could have said they voted "Sanjaya" back on because well it was charity . . . . That would be reason for outrage.

But seriously though, a move like that is actually helpful for Jordin next week. I don't think she is in danger of going off yet, but now she has an insurance policy of about a bazillion sympathy votes next week, pretty much guaranteeing her the #1 spot and safety next week when 2 people get voted off.

There is huge strategy involved here with the producers. Yes, it was cruel to Jordin and shocking. But if they put the bottom 2 as the last ones standing, that might have swung votes for both of them next week, and hurt the favorites, like Jordin.

I still think Chris will end up going next week, can't pin down another yet though.

I hope the Top 4 are the women & Blake. I just like Blake more than Phil.

I find the psychology of it very interesting, and we all know it is not just about the performances.

OttoCal .... there were a hundred ways they could have handled it .... there was no need for cruelty .... and that was nothing if not cruel ....

I'm still trying to find an email for someone high up at FOX ... will post when I can .... but most of the AI boards out there are full of unhappy people with the way this was handled.

Blech on all of them. I'll never watch again after this season. Never.

But Ryan said at the beginning he was going to call on people to stand "in no particular order". So Jordin and Chris weren't necessarily the lowest vote getters. My guess would be Chris and Lakisha. Chris doesn't sing all that well and I think Lakisha fans might be migrating to Jordin and Melinda. And your right about people voting for Jordin next week...pholks are going to feel she was beat up and vote for her even more.

It was still a really mean thing to do. All they talked about was the "most shocking results show ever!!" Worse than Chris Daughtry being voted off?

I agree, CD. I so agree.

They could have waited until the very last 90 seconds ... made them all stand up ... and then let them *all* sit down ....

Anyone watching the results at dialidol.com knows that Jordin got the most votes ...

Having her as one of the last standing and then calling Chris safe --- they just lot any shred of credibility they might have had ....

Blech on the lot of them.

Mean. Cruel. Not necessary.

I have liked her since auditions, but always was torn b/t her, Melinda and Lakeisha. While they all three have great voices, I think Jordin has more of the "American Idol" kind of thing going--maybe it's her youth. But she's won me over. I think Chris is the next one that needs to go.
Agreed!!! :)
Me too! I've been on Team Jordin for a few weeks now, but her performance on Tuesday solidified it for me. She's got it all!

CD and all- I agree that no way could Jordin have been in the bottom 2, and it was just an assumption on my part that Chris was towards the bottom- the 3 women remaining have been very popular, so I think when Jordin & Chris were the 2 remaining, it was really obvious that of those particular two, Jordin would have had the higher votes.

There are a lot of things about AI that can be considered cruel- including turning Sanjaya into a national punching bag for comments that have really got to hurt- remember, he is only 17 too. He may have been a stinky singer in comparison to some of the others, but he has taken a lot of very public abuse. I heard a promo for Jimmy Kimmel tonight where he is a guest and the tag line went something like 'Not since Paris Hilton has someone with so little talent become famous'. That's funny, and we laugh, but we are adults and he is just a teenager with a dream and deep down that has got to hurt his feelings. I know it would mine.

And I am not trying to defend American Idol for being meanies  to Jordin. And we all know it is heartbreaking for each one that gets voted off. There will only be one winner in the end, and so with 6 left, there are still have 5 more hearts to break on the show. Yeah, they may still end up with recording contracts, but they have got to be so caught up in the world of AI and the weekly shows that they are probably focusing on the present rather than future possibilities at this point.

Honestly, I hope AI provides some sort of counseling for the contestants other than the vocal/hair/makeup/clothing/ and other coaching they provide.
