can't get there any earlier, my uncle and i are working till then. O well, we'd probably be sitting out in the rain anyways :(. We left at 3 last year, that sucked lol...

i mapquested 1 hour and 40 mins. We'll get there a bit quicker I believe, but I did forget about the traffic. Maybe 2 hours and a half hours with lunch/dinner on the way down. So being there at 430 ain't bad.

Phew, am I wiped out! I was surprised at how EASY it was to get out of the parking lot this year. We were out and on 66 just after 10:30.

Oh my gosh, I don't know what they did, or how it happened, but getting in and out was sooooo much easier this year. We were out of the parking lot in less than 5 minutes, and getting in took less than 15 once we got off 66.

Great show! Good to see Fingers on stage again. Jimmy genuinely looked like he was having a great time.

Fins up.

OMG....I can't believe we're going to do this again tomorrow in AC!!! We had a great time! Thank you Dori and Scott...we had a great time visiting with you and were so happy to meet fellow BNers! :D :D

I loved Coast of Marseilles. And Fingers was amazing! My keet was totally impressed and said she wanted to learn how to play.
[smilie=battingeyes.gif]
It poured so hard that we got wet and we were under the pavillon. Not as bad as the lawn pholks, but nobody seemed to care. And the Singing in the Rain number was really cute with Jimmy riding his bike!
We also were out in 5-10 minutes. Good job Nissan and PWC police. Wellington Road had all lanes going out and we zipped onto 66! :D :D

On to AC.....

Yep, def was a great show. Getting into the lot around 2:30 took longer than leaving after the show. They really had their act together this year. I had shower and was in bed by 1:15am. I expected much worse.

The rain and "Fingers" made the set list. That harmonica player is something else. One of my favorite moments was when the lady next to me asked who that old guy was. I said as a matter of factly, "It's the harmonica player!"

So, am I correct to infer that Nissan has finally found a way to get a maddening crowd into the lots without much of a problem and traffic out is going smoother as well? That almost makes me want to go back there!!!!! :D

Fingers sure got a LOT of time on the video screens. I was a little disappointed in the work of the sound board engineers. Too many times the harmonica was washed out by the rest of the band. Still, it was awesome. Fingers harmonica takes so many of the songs to another level. Coast of Marseilles was incredible. Unfortunately, it would work much better at a smaller venue. Believe it or not a lot of people around me took that slowed down moment of the show to head to the beer lines and started yakking and talking with each other. I was totally p.o.’d with the group in my section of the pavilion. They apparently wanted only the “Big 8” party songs. Amazing.

That was an understatement. My shirt is still wet from the rain last night.

Great show - Yeah surfpirate, I agree. I'm always disappointed (but not suprised) at the number of people who stand there with a quizzical look on their face when Buffett plays stuff not on the yellow album. Oh well.

Dori - it was nice meeting you and Scott; hopefully he doesn't think we BNers are too strange. Also, thanks for organizing the phone list; I dub thee "Julie the Cruise Director". :)
Carolinadreamin' - nice meeting you and your husband. I'm glad your keet had fun. I can only hope Buffett is still touring in 10 yrs so I can take my kids.

Great meeting you too Andy! 8)
I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to convince Bob we need to go to Tahiti..we'll see how far that goes. I had to stamp my feet to go to MOTM. :-?

i am feeling really sad. next year, i really have to trek to two shows. although, admittedly, i'm not on the same post-buffett high like i was last year, which was my first show.

my group took a party bus (if anyone made it to the bus section, we were in the blue school bus painted with beach scenes) and we were SHOCKED how easy it was to get in and get out. i was actually hoping we'd have more time stuck in traffic because i didn't want the night to end.

i LOVED hearing coconut telegraph. i really thought since he played stars on the water in pgh and nj, that he'd play it for us. and i sad that he didn't. fingers was amazing. i'm so happy i had a chance to see him live. and of course, when he did southern cross, i thought it was a good time to call a friend who couldn't make it and sing along into my phone. i have no idea his reaction.

OOH!!! And my group made it onto the big screen during the parking lot montage. we were doing jello shots from an oversized syringe. sigh. awesome times. my birthday is in december and i think for this year, i want to pull together a small group to help me celebrate it in key west. i have no idea how i can possibly wait until another show next year.

so does anyone know where to find a dowload of the show? last year someone recorded it from RM and made it available for others. does anyone have a copy? i can't imagine not being able to hear it again for the next year.

here's the VINE thread for the show. make sure you check the VINE RULES however. can't have no law-breakers when it comes to a vine... I was on the wrong side of a vine-breaker last year and had to publicly humiliate (i.e. begging in all caps) myself for a copy (that I've now lost... )
