and just how much of a stretch is it to believe that if Clinton had been more interested in attending to the presidency and to watching our enemies instead of lying his way out of hot water, people might not have died in the US Embassies in Africa, or at the World Trade Center, or at the Pentagon............
I think it's quite a stretch actually. :D

Well isn't that sorta like saying that if the Republicans hadn't been trying to get something (anything) on Clinton with the Whitewater investigation and hadn't forced impeachment proceedings against him, that maybe Clinton wouldn't have been distracted from his duties? :)

I don't personally believe that. I think Clinton acted against America's enemies when and where he could. Don't you remember when he was accused of a "Wag the Dog" strategy, trying to distract folks away from his troubles by attacking America's enemies overseas?

For all his faults and personal failings (trust me - I don't worship at the Bill Clinton shrine), Clinton was a better President than Bush will ever be.

Just IMHO. :)

Maybe I'm bad at history but I don't think Clinton was in office when the Pentagon or World Trade Centers were hit. I seem to recall that someone else was sitting in the office. Someone that ignored Intel warning of terrorists attacks using jets to strike US targets.

Wonder how long it will take to clean up the current damage?

The first time the WTC was bombed was 1993. As I recall, 6 people died and more than a 1000 were injured. Someone named Clinton was in the Oval Office at the time. Or at least he was supposed to have been there.

You are correct about the first attack. I wasn't sure if the original person knew there were 2 attacks? You are correct Clinton was sitting for #1. Bush was there for #2. What is your point?

It goes back a lot further than that, actually.
You can point to the Beirut Marines barracks bombing of 1983, which Pres. Reagan responded by... doing virtually nothing.

Historians believe this marked a turning point in eyes of the Jihadists,
who regard the mere presence of infidels (Jews and their sympathizers) in the Holy Lands as a call to arms and martyrdom.
The lack of response at that time emboldened all to try to shake the delicate balance
that is our immense thirst for oil vs. our immense cultural/human rights divide with the Arab world.

I saw on the news last night that the 4 leading Republican candidates have nine wives/ex-wives between them.

Giuliani(sp?)-3
McCain-2
Gingrich-3
Romney-1

Family values baby. But if they say they won't let gays get married they will be right back in with the Kool-aid drinking crowd.

It's not fair to include McCain in that list....

He and his first wife were separated for almost 6 years while he was a POW in Vietnam. They tried to make it work when he returned, but were unsuccessful.

Getting divorced does not indicate an absence of family values, sometimes it indicates the presence of those values.

Saw that, too. And the kicker is, the one Mormon in the group (Romney) is the only one that has had one wife.

The top three Dems, Obama, Clinton and Edwards have all been married once.

an old joke: What's the penalty for polygamy?
answer: Having more than one wife. :D
