I just find this hilarious!

I realize Clinton was impeached for lying about whether he had an affair, but so much for the "holier than thou...." :o

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group.

"The honest answer is yes," Gingrich, a potential 2008 Republican presidential candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson to be aired Friday, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press.

"There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There's certainly times when I've fallen short of God's standards."

It would be quicker to list those in the House of Representatives who were not having an affair at that time.

Hopefully with this news he decides not to seek the republican nomination. I'm disappointed but not surprised. Still hoping the republicans can come up with a candidate. (No I don't believe any of the front runners would make good presidents. They might win but wouldn't be good.)

Mr. Bill was impeached for LYING UNDER OATH- not for getting a "Lewinsky" from Ms. Lewinsky. I don't give a damn if he's screwing Little Orphan Annie, but I do give a damn if the President of the United States commits perjury.
Also-Gingrich's affair was brought up then, and how he served divorce papers on his first wife while she was undergoing cancer treatment.
No, I don't condone it one bit-unlike most Democrats, Republicans are held accountable-and if he lied about it under oath, I'd be leading the charge to get him ousted.
(He eventually resigned on his own, for you Democrats with short/selective memories).

I must say when I heard the Senator Thompson's name brought up yesterday, it made me wonder if he wouldn't be an immediate front runner...

"The president of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge," the former Georgia congressman said of Clinton's 1998 House impeachment on perjury and obstruction of justice charges.

I don't care who screws who you don't lie under oath or to the FBI as Scotter Libby found out this week.

You're right as rain, Jen, but those poor souls residing in your neighbor to the north would be like a bunch of lost sheep without Teddy-the-red-nosed-Senator.
I'm so proud of myself because I didn't say Teddy the murderer
