Apparently my love for "Off to see the Lizard" is not shared by many others. Oh well.

Thanks for setting this up, it should be fun.

  Not necessarily so. Several beloved songs went against each other here. It was a little like having to pick a favorite from among your own children

It's not the clearest, but it fits on one page...if you're going to print it:

This is a great idea. I am sure the lower seeds will win most of the rounds based on a quick look. Also some hard choices in the first round alone! I cant wait to see what is picked as the "favorite song" based on this.

DON'T GET MAD! Please. I love Jimmy Buffett and music and way of life and it has had a mega postive influence on how I choose to live my life as I approach my 30's . . . .

That being said - BECAUSE we love and want to honor Jimmy Buffett so much AND we are his die hard fans why not choose songs he wrote.

Some of the authors of these songs include:

1. Sam Cooke.
2. Mac
3. Steve Goodman
4. Don Rollins
5. Jim Brown
6. Frankie Ford
7. John Hiatt

Again, I ask only because of how much I appreicate Jimmy - not despite of it.

There are so many great songs I love written by Jimmy himself. He does a fine job on the covers . . . but those songs are not his - - - phins.

Jimmy himself picked the songs by playing them in concert. The songs were picked by which songs he's played the most.

I think this is about the favorite songs he performs or records, not just what he writes. I agree with you that he is a great songwriter and that some crowd faves are not written by him. However sometimes he takes a cover and makes it his. Examples to me are spider john, southern cross, banana republics and mexico to name a few. I like his versions better than originals.
However this game is for all songs, so lets enjoy it and maybe you can start another thread with just songs he wrote.
By the way, APLAF is currently a 6-5 favorite

oh . . . and at the risk of getting banished from Margaritaville . . . no one should vote for Margaritaville.

Just for fun, I ran my brackets based on my own preferences and am down to my Final Four. It will be interesting to see how closely or how far out of whack I am!

Great idea! Thanks for putting it together!

Now if we could just vote for elected officials like this. It would save many the wasted time and $$$

I have it down to my Final Four if I was the sole voter and I have a #2, #4, #7 and #8 seed going to the final four.

And a little birdie gave me a message from RoadToTheFinalFour saying that the Boats will play Beaches and Bars will play Ballads in the Semifinals.

And he also said to say that if anyone is literate with Photoshop and wants to make him an avatar based off of the NCAA logo to go right ahead because he thinks it's kinda cheesy to have the NCAA Basketball logo for an avatar when this isn't about basketball.
