My Favorite song. In 1983, while it was snowing in Chgo the wife and I were in LA. Sitting by the pool, drinking listening to Jimmy on vinyl. Saw Jimmy that Summer. Hooked ever since.

You should see me dance to this song. I was a Deadhead before I was a parrothead, and when he plays this song, like he did last August first on Jerry's b-day when I saw him at Camden, I am on another planet. Ans while I think SB is a better song than a lot of JB songs, I have to go with BD with no hesitation because it is such an essential JB song and SB, as much as I love to hear it, is, has and will forwever will be a 'Dead tune.ragtopW wrote:I like both.. Boat Drinks is classic Buffett, and describes the winter tropic escapism that defines Buffett better than any other tune he does... and even when done superbly, a cover is still a cover.

Although Scarlet Begonias is okay, it's one of my least favorite cover songs.
HOWEVER, if the choice were Boat Drinks or UNCLE JOHN'S BAND, I'd definately go with the latter.
