I was just wondering if the indoor shows are as good as the outdoor? I wouldnt think they would be without lawn area and the atmosphere but i was still wondering if their close and do all the people still dress up as much?

Oh yeah . . . I Buffett show is a Buffett show. They are all good. Personally, I choose not to go to indoor shows anymore unless I big crowd of my phriends is attending . . . but that doesn't mean they are bad. I prefer out door shows in the summer with the breeze and the atmosphere but that is just my opinion. I can't imagine a Buffett show being anything but good.Burgerflickle wrote:I was just wondering if the indoor shows are as good as the outdoor? I've seen him indoors 5 times and out 4 times. I'll see him outdoors at least one more time on my Texas tour (maybe twice, depends upon the roofs position in Houston). I tend to get lawn tickets when they're an option, but it's nice to have a seat (or specific place for me to stand) when he plays indoors.
One of the indoor shows, I'll say I'm truly glad we were inside. It's gets cold when the sun goes down, and it's December, and you're in the mountains!

One of THE best shows I ever attended was indoor in Charlotte, NC. It was Valentine's Day in (i think) 1997.
Jimmy played Pencil Thin from the audience after the first break...surprising and delighting everyone.
Closed with an acapella version of Survive....AWESOME.
I've been to somewhere around 30 shows...indoor, outdoor, Millenium, private....NEWSFLASH: They are all fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm approaching 30 shows, been to many more outside than in and while I agree with all on here that a Buffett show is great no matter where it is, I believe it belongs outdoors. The atmosphere is just so different and I can't really explain it but it's what I think of as a true Jimmy experience. Does anyone know what I mean who might be able to explain it better???

My only problem is the assigned seating- my first Tampa show, we had awful seats- like 5 rows from the roof, on the side, so we couldn't even see the video screens. We didn't care that much, but the people behind us kept complaining when we were standing (because they couldn't see- because it's important to see the speaker bank at a concert). And the ushers were really strict about letting you in other sections (we weren't trying to upgrade, we were just trying to find a fun group. We finally ended up in the stands behind the stage.

That was my first Buffett show. He played it from one of the portals in the upper deck. It was great. The one good thing about indoor shows is that there is no weather to deal with. However, I've been to a show (Columbia) where the sound was terrible.McKay wrote:One of THE best shows I ever attended was indoor in Charlotte, NC. It was Valentine's Day in (i think) 1997.

We thought The Pond was a much more subdued show than Chula Vista or Irvine Meadows. It seemed to attract a more formal crowd, people walking over from restaurants, etc. It was not as much fun and we decided not to go to any indoor concerts again. However, we avoided going for many years when we lived in the midwest because the only venue was Alpine and it had a reputation for traffic and MUD and rain, so I would say in a climate like that, that an indoor show would be better. But for SoCal and anywhere "Suthin'", we would prefer the outdoors!!

Last time he played indoors in Chicago was at the HOB for a show that was announced that day. I believe it was back in like 97 or 98moeron wrote:I would love to see Jimmy indoors in Chgo. Winter watching Jimmy would be great. Snow outside, Jimmy inside. No tailgating, but You can't have everything.

I think you will find that once you drive into the parking lot (if you can get into the parking lot), the tailgating party is the same.
Indoor Charlotte shows have always been great.
We starve for Buffett concerts here in western NC, so when we get one..it doesnt matter if its served on a platter or on the lawn.
